View Full Version : If advanced aliens came down and evaluated Lebron's career from 09-19'

These completely unbiased creatures would see the facts for what they are, with no spin:
1) Lebron couldn't make the Finals in 09/10, so he stacked the deck from 11-18', before the West exposed him in 19'
- (20-14 pre-injury = 48 wins and lost tie-breaker with Clips... so lottery regardless of injury)
2) Bad Finals records matter because it means he'd make 3 Finals in the West for his career (3/9) - therefore, his Finals appearances were conference-dependant (they're just conference finals wins in a weak conference)
3) Other players that have far lower time of possesssion won with less help during this time period (Kobe, Dirk, Kawhi)

No, they'd probe ESPN employees for how they could be so dumb and get it so wrong over and over
How could such well-educated people not differentiate usage and ball-domination, etc, etc
notice how no one at ESPN calls lebron goat anymore except paid Clutch Sports shills Shannon, Nick and Hollins.. they came off Bron REAL quick, quicker than they did Kobe after PER was introduced, lol
he'd make 3 Finals in the West for his career (3/9) - therefore, his Finals appearances were conference-dependant (they're just conference finals wins in a weak conference)
I’ll be honest, I’m not even positive if Miami was in the West from 2011-2014 that they'd be a lock for the Finals in 2012 and 2013 given the state of the Heat. In 2012, are they beating the Spurs without Bosh for 6 games? I personally don't think so. SA is a terrible matchup for the Heat to begin with and without Bosh I don't see how their defense can hold up.
In 2013...they were injured, slumping and got a total cakewalk to the Finals. Could they have still made it? Sure, but it was going to be a lot harder getting worn down playing a team like the Warriors or Grizzles...and the the Grizzlies were essentially a better version of the Pacers they barley beat. In 2012 if the Heat are healthy then they make it for sure and win as they were clearly the best team at full strength. But 2013? Ugh....I hate to say it but I just don't think they would have had enough in the tank to get through the West given they were injured and slumping. They were fortunate to just have to get through a 38 win Bucks team, the 45 win Bulls without Rose and 49 win Pacers who they were lucky to just squeak by.

:oldlol: Look at this cherry picking
The years that he took only bailout threes and 1.5 attempts or less mean nothing - and that was every year....... except two years when he took 3+ attempts and shot well both years (90', 93')... :confusedshrug:
So only 90' and 93' matter in the regular season, and MJ was always a good 3-point shooter in the playoffs - 35.2% on 2.2 attempts in 85-93' playoffs..... 39% on 3.8 attempts in 91-93' playoffs... 43% on 3.3 attempts in 91-93' Finals...
Again, MJ had goat form and was a natural at threes

You can be WOAT at rebounds and assists if you're GOAT at scoring, clutch, teamwork, defense, and leadership
Of course, high assists from one player HURTS a team's ball movement, reduces teammates' role (spot-up shooter), and almost never won outside of the goat PG/center combo of Magic/Kareem.. :confusedshrug:
Infact, only 4 guys outside of Magic won rings while averaging 8 apg.. Otoh, timely scoring and 4-7 apg is the optimal style of play, since all the best championship runs had the #1 option play this way - Wade 06'.. Dirk 11'.. Pierce 08'.. Kobe 09/10.. Jordan 91-97'.. Chauncey 04'.. Parker 07'.. Curry 15'.. Durant 17/18... Duncan numerous..

What if you could be GOAT rebounder and assister (LeBrons 12 and 10) AND be GOAT scorer? (LeBrons 36ppg in 2015 Finals, 34ppg in 2017 Finals, an 35ppg in 2018 Finals)
What if you could be GOAT in all 3 categories, instead of just in scoring? :confusedshrug:

Ur a dumbass - Lebron had to hold the ball 30% more than Harden did this year to get those assist numbers - 12 minutes to Harden's 9 and Kawhi's 5
^^^ do you know how bad that is?
He hogged the assists for himself instead of letting the ball move, so his team always gets massively out-assisted by superior ball-movement in the Finals... Again,
^^^ do you know how bad that is?
So don't talk to me about assists - weak ball-movement/teamwork is the single biggest reason his teams struggle on the championship level - his skill restriction to ball-domination must sacrifice teamwork to get stats
And Lebron's scoring was nowhere near goat and the predictability of his scoring was exploitable..
Otoh, jordan's scoring was goat because he could achieve it with great ball movement and teamwork... he could also achieve goat scoring at a slow pace, with infinite repertoire/unpredictability, and with numerous double-teams... Lebron is nowhere near mj

Most of it can be easily explained some lakers young talent is overrated for now(lonzo was likely their 2nd best player imo) so a 48 win pace is ok for lebron at an age where he’s not top 3 anymore, he’s at default winning 3 rings and 3 fmvps which is fine success wise(ik ne1 argued he wouldn’t win in 2012 but this is just something to debate and not definitive), and the final point is true but gs not existing is a significant reason they could win and bron couldn’t with more talent(ofc just looking at the top 3 guys is lazy analysis too)
