The question is, how much is the league raking in and whats the percentage of that that Curry is getting?

Netting $15.2 million to play basketball and be famous is literal slavery. Also theft. And something capitalism and endorsements.

I legit feel bad for Curry. The average Joe doesn't know how good they have it.

We should all send the Governors a message by posting our disapproval on Reddit.

In Texas his net pay would be roughly $19m, so you're still paying a significant chunk. Only difference is in states like Texas and Florida, we don't pay that city/state income tax bullshit.

Why are people surprised though? There are tax brackets in place for everyone..after you've made $500,000 in a single year, every dollar afterwards you have to pay $0.37 in federal tax. It used to be higher, used to be after 400k you pay 40% tax.

Everywhere in the world you are taxed, it's just the way it is. The only countries in which you don't pay tax is Islamic countries. The only "form" of tax you pay is either zekiyat, which is 2.5% or guzija (dont know how to spell) which non believers pay also 2.5%. So if Steph was earning this amount in Saudi Arabia, his take home would be $33.7m

So if you don't like taxes, move to Saudi Arabia or UAE. Or work for yourself and create an LLC, that's how the rich legally get away without paying taxes. Even if you're a contractor, set up an LLC and keep your receipts/log of spending. Log every expense you can and claim that you are only giving yourself a personal salary of $20k-$30k, and you will still be able to use all the money in the LLC for literally whatever you want. This is how to LEGALLY pay less taxes....all these rich people do it while the people who work 9-5 are forced to pay tax on every dollar they make. I should say we make, since I work for a corporation and get my ass slapped with taxes every paycheck :D

How is half of your wealth being taken to be redistributed a capitalist utopia?

Lmao you dumb mother****er.

If anything, it’s the socialist policies that make up part of the country’s governance that yield such outcomes. Whether that’s good or bad... we can save that separate convo for OTC... but as far as why Curry loses half of his wealth... it’s a combination of the military industrial complex and socialist policies ie wealth redistribution such as the various forms of welfare, Medicare, social security and etc. Pigeonholing it as “capitalism” is about as ignorant if not straight up dishonest as someone could possibly get.

They won't, they are greedy bastards with no interest in the sport and no morals.

We need a new league.

I sugges that Euroleague expand into the US with a similar club based system instead of the college draft, franchise system.

Funny how OP chose Stephen Curry as an example. He's a top 1% earner in the NBA.

Imagine selecting a top 1% earner in the US and saying "I just now realized how much money Americans actually make..."
