Not really. He had a chance to come back to his hometown. join the richest owner in sports. Jerry West best executive. Doc Rivers players coach.

just an overall smart decision unlike Lebron calling up his best friends to join up in Miami. He just made the Clippers get better overall because they had so many assets.

Of course.

Kawhit recruiting him the whole time. Telling him to find whatever way possible to get traded to the Clipps

Both him and Playoff P are colluders.

Honestly, I didn't expect this of Kawhi. A quitter, a bitch, all that, sure. But not a colluder. I figured he didn't care if he was solo star or not (see Toronto).

Funny b/c earlier today I was telling my friend that the collusion era will end when LeBron retires. Super teams will continue of course, but built via the draft or by natural GM moves. But, guess I'm wrong. Weak stars colluding may still continue for the foreseeable future.

difference is LeBron and KD both NEEDED to bring stars with them to win their first ring.

Kawhi already had TWO FMVPS and RINGS before making the jump

Kawhi's best chance of winning next year was with Lakers. He passed on that superteam.

jstern

Yes he is unfortunately. But that's just the new NBA culture right now, starting a few years ago. After the Lebron, Wade, Bosh paved the way, normalized it, it's very much accepted in the media. Nobody bats an eye. For example, a common theme during the last season (while the season was still going on) was "Lebron should leave Cleveland (a team he just took to the Finals), to go to this or that team so that he could with another championship and catch Jordan." Compare that the acceptance of that theme to 2010.

A little different with Kawhi in that he didn't really have a team. He had a fallout with the Spurs and then got traded. He at least didn't join two other superstars, which he could have easily done.

Yeah he passed because of ego, you're right.

Is Kawhi's move anything more than KD colluding w/ Irving to Nets? (not talking about KD to Warriors)

There are levels of collusion here I guess. Some guys team up with 2 superstars (top ~15 players) and some guys team up with 1 :confusedshrug:

btw what is the definition of colluder anyways :confusedshrug:

YEA but he did it quietly.. He also shit on the Lakers while doing it.. Lakers could have had Brogdan a good defender and score/shooter who could at times break down a defense ..

Kawhi tried teaming up with Durant first, failed then went for pg next. If it was lebron same guys praising Durant would be hating lebron. Don

He is, though weirdly his “collusion “ is respectable as he brought parity back to the NBA that desperately needed it.

The guy saw the Lakers already with 2 superstars. Knew him joining would create a dynasty. Instead of making the easy decision, he instead decides to challenge that team directly. You can see he still values competition

It still surprised the hell out of me though

Kawhi isn't loyal.:oldlol:

Dude bitched and purposefully sat out an entire year in order to force Pop to trade him.

Then after 1 season in Toronto he did the exact same thing that LeBron did with AD and forced PG to demand a trade to the Clippers.

But apparently it's ok because Kawhi doesn't have a strong media personality:oldlol: :oldlol:
This is basically what went down. He made Pg13 force a trade in year 1 of a 5 year deal. It's insane that everyone is glossing over it but were super upset about AD a few months back.
