An optimist look at this signing:

1. He can be signed using bird rights and going over the cap, so if you don't sign him, the replacement will be a vet minimum.

2. With the addition of AD and the team generally getting older, he'll fill into a natural role where he'll be asked to mainly play as tough defense as possible on opposing point guards, while playing off ball on offense as a shooting wing that needs to look for efficient finishes - having Green next to him will help with that.

Problem is his defense is very average. People blow by him all the time.

And on sundays you can see that guy is playing with a hangover.

Not a fan of this signing. Unless he's comin off the bench.

You might be wright, but I'm hopeful you're not.

Maybe he wasn't fully engaged on defense in past years, because for many stretches he was looking to score as he was always on a one year deal and figured it would matter more to better his chances of making money on future deals.
Combine that with now being fully surrounded by vets, him getting a bit older himself, and a 2 year deal - he might focus more into what his role needs to be on a championship level team.

And lastly, with the players available now in FA, if the alternative is to start Rondo, I'd rather just have Lebron play PG as starter with Green and KCP next to him as wings. Overall, he shouldn't play more than around 20 minutes a game though.
