View Full Version : Not bad for Lebron's legacy

Kawhi not joining means that the league will have more parity. Lebron is already a consensus top 3 GOAT. In my eyes, he's better than Kareem but he needs something to top him in the eyes of the majority.
Winning a title in this situation would catapult him above Kareem even in the eyes of the most delusion Lebron hater.

Winning a title in this situation would make him the darling of Lakers fans. Being the man who stops the clippers from winning the title and in doing so tying or breaking the celtics' all time mark would make him the most indelible laker since Magic. Kobe would be a sidenote. Even Shaq - 3 FMVPs -might not be remembered with as much reverence.

He needs more rings whether cheap or not to pass Kareem.

No way he is doing it now.. but hey at least we're getting Space Jam 2!!

Kawhi joining the Lakers would have been terrible. We finally have have some parity after snake in the grass KD joined the Warriors and ruined the league for awhile.

The movie needed someone with a winning finals record.

Why? They are probably still favourites with Lebron and AD. Even if they aren't, the league is wife open and they have a big chance of winning it.

AD is about to be the next great Laker big man.

If Lakers win it all with AD - Lebron combo, we'll give James the respect he deserves but it's Davis, who has a chance to cement himself as one of the all-time greats in P&G. Lebron can win B2B for us but he'll never come close to Kobe or Shaq, AD on the other hand can build a legacy here.

Disagree. If lebron somehow leads this team to the title and cleans up Kobe's mess, he becomes a living icon immediately in LA.

The idea that Kareem > Wilt is dumb mainstream media speak

Like, Feeny literally got the idea that Kareem > Wilt from the mainstream media.. nowhere else

But the reality is that it took 8-HOF teams to beat Wilt and they'd have beaten Kareem much worse.. Kareem was a flat out loser most of the 70's and only started winning when magic joined

Kareem was a finals MVP at 37. Wilt was a career 18ppg finals scorer and a 22ppg playoff scorer. He lost multiple game 7"s in which he missed more free throws than the final points spread was. He had only himself to blame for not winning more. If you miss 9 free throws and lose a game 7 by 5 points, that's on you.
