First impressions: his jumper trash. He needs to improve on that area. His altletic ability is insane. U see zion steal a ball from a poor player? Poor guy. So whats yr thoughts ?

I saw him getting blocked easily by some nobody on a layup attempt.

I see that happening a lot.

That said, he is clearly an exciting player who seems like he loves to play and entertain. He will be fun to watch, but he won't be a difference maker for some seasons is my guess.

He still raw, but great talent and motor. Two things he needs to work on right away. His freethrow shooting and moves in the post. He has to be able to have decent footwork in the post. He can't just overpower everyone every time.

Jumper will literally take years to develop.

Reminds me of Randle, a bit better though.

The half he played shouldn't have changed anyone's opinion. He's just a beast. Improving the jumper would help but this isn't a Ben Simmons situation. NO should focus on surrounding him with guys that can shoot and letting him just play in the paint because that's where he's going to be a great player. The idea that he needs to be a great or even good 3-point shooter is wrong. Any possession that ends with him shooting a three went wrong. This guy is built to attack the basket. If I'm his coach I want to see him average 10 dunks per game.

His quickness for someone his build is f*cking insane.

He needs to lose some weight. All that weight on those knees may not be good.

I don't follow college ball, but this guy looks too green, his shooting form is bad and he gotta be releasing that ball around half a second quicker.
EDIT: and why does his body look like it's a hybrid of Shaq and Diaw?

That nobody was Mitchell Robinson, who led the NBA in blocks per 36 minutes last season. He had 4.3 per-36....next closest was 3.4 for Myles Turner.

Too early to tell from a half of a 1st summer league game. His jumper will improve, only idiots will claim he

The wind up on his jumper combined with his release might just be the ugliest thing I've ever seen in my life

Rough look for a small sample but his qualities were on display: raw athletic power. His jumper did look terrible in an nba ish setting. But if I'm coaching him i want him to work on his mid range and everything from the high post in should be a bucket for him. His speed and power should be dominant when he's operating a step or 2 out of the paint. Let him get used to the pro game and he will be a problem.

Hes not super skilled but he has an insane motor and work ethic. I can't see him being a franchise player or maybe not even a sidekick star but he'd be an amazing piece for a team looking for a Draymond type. That's who he reminds me most of. He's just a much more athletic version of him which could be scary

Out of shape AF. But still showed Godly explosion. Can't teach what this guy has. 1 in a billion type gifts. If he gets down to like 260 and trim, he's gonna be even more sudden/explosive. And given his desire to compete, he will get there. Zion era has begun.

Looks a lot like Anthony Mason from the way he dribbles down to that same ugly lefty shot. Of course Mase had very average hops vs all time elite bounce and Mase had a poor first step while Zion has a pretty good one... and not just

A banger like manimal or Reggie Evans

A blocker not a mover.. he'll set some fantastic screens

The guy was probably pretty close when he said he's Randle with hops.

Considering Randle was giving NBA teams 24/10 after the ASB I believe that's not really a bad thing. Just not living up to the hype.

His body might be muscular but hes got some baby fat on him as well.

Great instincts

Will easily average 15ppg and 10 rebounds rookie year.

Needs to:

Go through a year of NBA training to get down in body fat.
Work with biomechanic professionals
Develop a great hook shot and midrange jumper

Hes a 4 that can switch. Allan Draymond green.

his first pro game was not absolutely trash, but it was not entirely convincing neither. how old is he again, what, just turned 19??

i've watched enough basketball to know first games or even the entire first year in the nba don't necessarily mean shit.

i remember when yao ming scored a grant total of two points in his first two NBA games. the media killed his ass.

then 3 weeks later, he dropped 30 on the mavs.

and then he eventually became a 25-10 player in his prime.

you usually end up looking like a damn fool if you try to make too much out of the very first game.

He would be better to stay in college for one more year, to develop more.

Now is just too raw.

If course, the money on the table is so irresistible and tempting.

The best way to get ready for the NBA is to play and train in the NBA.
