As a Raptors fan, I'm extremely happy for the guy. How can anyone hate him? He got traded to a team he didnt think he'd ever trade for..and won a championship. He always wanted to go home. Kinda obvious since hes a family first type of guy.
He had so much pressure from the media, players, LeBron, Magic etc..to join the Lakers. He didnt care and joined the Clippers instead. That was just a big FU to LeBron.
Must suck to be a Lakers fan right now. If LeBron wasnt on that team, Kawhi would have been a Laker. :lol
Congrats Clippers fans!! Probably not a lot of you right now but I'm sure some Lakers fans will switch their teams.

He did the Lakers dirty, specifically. It's pretty obvious in hindsight he was only ever considering the Clippers or the Raptors.
He didn't stretch this out to hurt the Lakers, he stretched it out to try to force PG to LAC, but he sure as hell could have told the Lakers a week ago that he wasn't interested in playing there.

At this point I think its pretty obvious Kawhi has no respect for LeBron and also the media. The media tried so hard to push him into the Lakers.. and we all know how much kawhi hates the media. It's actually pretty funny how he trolled everyone.

Doing the Lakers dirty would've been waiting until after Saturday to announce his decision, handcuffing them. But he didn't. Think about that for a moment.

False. He owes them nothing. The Lakers played themselves.

Exactly. They should be thankful.

He recruited Paul George to the Clippers.
Dude finished 3rd in MVP voting and not a peep is made.
How is that possible?

He doesn't owe them anything.
The Lakers did indeed play themselves.
But if you have no intention whatsoever of going somewhere, why wouldn't you just come out and tell them when you see they're thirsty as hell for you?
Like what?
This would be like him taking a meeting with the Suns, Knicks or whatever other dog shit franchise, and letting them sit on their cap space for a week with no intention whatsoever to sign.
Well, I'm sure Jeanie Buss learned a lesson about this, assuming she keeps the team long term.

We're just going to have to live with the fact that this is the reality of the NBA now, and Lebron played a big part in making this possible. At least it's made the offseason really interesting.

Some Laker and Spurs fans will infinitely hold a drudge against him and that's understandable. But in a sport where stars are supposed to collide rather than collude, he did the league a world of favors by not forming an invincible trio; it's a much more balanced league with him on his own team. And having two teams vying for supremacy in LA is another win for the NBA.

He's a colluder who jumps from stacked team to stacked team :confusedshrug:
Quit on the best org in bball, went to the one-seeded Raptors who added Green/Gasol as well...then went to the Clipps who just won 50 games and had a great playoff show all the while trying to recruit guys like KD (who said no) and PG (yes).
