starts with "Thank you for your interest in working for.....
That was the first sentence of the email I received from HR for the state job I interviewed for last week and I almost deleted it because it looked like it was a rejection. But I continue to read and it lead to "And I am please to extend to you a conditional offer of employment contingent upon a successful background check"
Never thought a offer of employment with start with Thank you So now the wait begins for the background check to be complete which should be this week.

Yes this is the state govt job I interviewed for last week and it's $13,000 more a year in salary than the job i started on 7/1. Now just have to wait for the background check to be completed. I got the email on friday afternoon which was a shock because it was the day after the holiday.
dope, congrats

Don't quit your current job until that background check clears.

Oh no I am only retarded when it comes to figuring out women during the dating game not when it comes to making a living lol I will not put in any resignation until I get a start date with the state job. And since I just started they will only get a week's notice if I hear something before July is over. Why stay there when I can have a week off to myself when the state job is $15,000 more a year with better healthcare benefits? Whatever day I get notified by the state with a start date that's my last week at the job I started 7/1.

Does sound like a rejection letter. That and beat of luck placing it elsewhere are the most annoying.
Imagine saying that to someone looking for a job. Yea we're not hiring you but we sure hope someone is gonna. Bitch.
