then took a hard left into serious roles which were far worse

his Happy Madison films always had some of the best supporting casts and iconic characters though

Reign Over Me, IMO, is his best movie, and it's really good. Sandler does well when he plays a character that's down on himself; Click and The Cobbler were both decent.
