Ok seriously, I'v heard this song in various context a few times over the past few months now, and I just cannot find this song. I have tried so hard, listened to lyrics, googled, them etc, still nothing. I think I need some minds now.

Was only able to listen to a few lyrics but here are some hints I've gotten

1) The main TUNE is amazing. Like its really catchy. Its not a fast beat or tune, pretty slow and smooth. First it is played by a violin and then the guy sings it with a oooooooooo-oooooo-ooooo. But after hearing it a few times, this tune will be stuck in your mind. One of the best I've heard.

2) 1 singer, male.

3) I think its a romantic song, but not happy romantic, but more deep romance or maybe tragic romance.

4) I get the vibes it is a 90s/00s song. I maybe wrong, but just the feel of it thats what I sense.

5) Ok lyrics, after the whole violin and oooooo part, I swear I heard 'Breathe me in, check me out" and then later "Breathe me in, turn me on". I swear those were the lyrics or really close, but Google says no...

Help! Its been months :(

I've also been looking for a song from my youth. It's an oldies, from the 60s and all I can remember is a part of the chorus that goes, "Hmmm, hmmm, him." Please think, clear your mind, concentrate. Maybe someone here can help.

I called the oldies station, got Rick Cool himself, from K-Fossil, but he was no help.

This is why I have Shazam installed on my phone. Hearing a song I like, but not knowing the name of it drives me crazy.

I mean you know its a hit song, you got some lyrics, you know its a male singer and you know the overall feel of the song too and clues on the instrumentals. What more would you want?

There's a 99% chance it's either not a hit song or your recollection/audial interpretation of the lyrics is absolute dog shit.

I was going to say Selena Gomez - Slow Down but you said violin and male...

"Breathe me in, breathe me out" is a lyric of hers.

The bolded maybe correct but why would a station play a song multiple times if it wasn't a hit?

It probably was a hit and it's likely your audial interpretation was off.

What kind of radio station was it?

Also, if you've heard it multiple times in VARIOUS CONTEXTS within the past few months, sure, it could be from a previous era... but it's likely modern... as in... past 6 months or year.

Well it plays at the casino, but Idk where they get their station from because its weird AF. Most the songs are pop but you will get all these teenage girl 2000s songs and all that stuff. Some recent stuff too but its all over teh place in pop.

I know I got at least some of those phrases/words right. Like I said, super super catchy tune with a violin.

No this station plays 2000 songs all the time. Multiple times. I never heard of this station in the car, its from a different zone/place all together.

Right but you said you heard it in various contexts... which I interpreted as multiple sources.

Multiple sources... recently heard... indicates it's a recent song.

No thank you. Its not an upbeat song but rather slow and smooth. Don't hear a memorable tune from a violin either.

What radio station did you hear it on?

You know you can go to their website and see a list of songs they play/played

Far too little to go on to expect someone to be able to help you over the internet.

Could you give a comparison? Is there another song that is comparable? What's the style of the song? You say it is smooth but also that it is catchy. That's usually opposite ends of the spectrum with the former denoting a slow and deliberate pace while the latter I usually associate with a faster pace with a repeated hook. Saying 90s/00s and not rap also is problematic since 80% of the hits from that time have rap stylings or female vocal melisma. What made you think it is 90s/00s?

If you can hum the tune maybe you can save a recording. That might help if not to identify the tune right away then at least to aid in future search should you encounter another clue in the future.

Anyway a wild guess because you mentioned violin, male vocal, 90s and smooth yet catchy would be Bitter Sweet Symphony:

I would say the song you posted is a good comparison. This song is a little faster at times, but comparison wise, you nailed it, male vocal, smooth, yet catchy tune through a violin. Its similar to this song. Its this style of song, but a little more cheerful and romantic (I think, didn't really hear many lyrics), but not upbeat by any standards.

But yeah, I had the same 1st expression of hearing this song that I have with Bitter Sweet Symphony. Wow that is a nice tune, very catch, smooth song.

Does anyone know the song where there’s a piano like daaa-da-da-da-daaaa-da-daaaa-daaaa and then there’s singing? It isn’t slow, but there’s no fast part but the slower parts aren’t a slow kind of slow.

was this somg first aired somewhere between 1970-2019?
I think it’s from March of 1987, but I could be wrong. The singing has lyrics, but I don’t remember the words. They’re sang in a melodic kind of way. But not overly melodic though. A kind of smooth smokey type of melodic.

Upon some reflection your description of the song having violin narrows down possibilities considerably. It's not Viva La Vida by Coldplay is it? Not really that close to Bitter Sweet Symphony but it does have an oooooooooooohhh sounding chorus section.

Closer or farther away?

I would say this one is further away. The violin part isn't there the whole song, it just plays the main tune of the song and then the same tune the violin plays the ooooooo-ooo-ooooo part follows.

While this song is further away, that song does have a lot of Coldplay vibes to it. The smooth type songs he sings like "Sky Full of Stars", "Paradise", and so on. Thats exactly like how it is, romantic-ish songs, that are smooth/slow with a catchy tune.

Right idea of type of song but yeah not it. It was a violin. But yes this type of smooth song, super catchy instrumental tune, etc. But I highly doubt song was this old. Had the 90s/00s feel.

I'll take one more crack at it.

Either "Secrets"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHm9MG9xw1o

or

"Apologize"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fm0T7_SGee4

by OneRepublic.

I don't think the strings are particularly notable in either song and it's cello as much as violin but maybe they fit the bill. "Apologize" could fly under the radar too because the more popular version is one with Timbaland that took out a lot of the violin and cello.

What kind of voice did the singer have? Was it clear and high pitched? Deep and raspy? Something else?

Yeah not these songs. Pretty convinced its a song from the 90s/00s, these sings are too hip-hop/modern music wise with so many beats and instrument going on, this song was the more simpler type like we used to see in the 90s/00s.

I know its probably not ,but if I had to guess I would say it was a Coldplay song. Exact vibes like that. Even voice is similar. Your typical white american 30-35 year old singer.

But yeah, think Coldplay style song, Paradise, Sky Full of Stars, nothing too flashy, just solid tunes and solid mimicking of tunes with the voice. Just like Coldplay often does.

Doctor K, where were you on the night of hearing this song. About what time was it. Do you recall hearing other old sounding songs before and after the song played?

I was in a casino. It was evening/night time. I have heard this song multiple times in this casino. But quite frankly, I can't recall hearing it anywhere else. This tells me this song probably isn't recent, otherwise I would hear it in other places or the radio more often. Also my ears tell me its a 90s/00s song.

It also tells me this song isn't that popular since I haven't heard it anywhere else, but it also tells me since it appears several times in this specific playlist and is relatively old, then it must be somewhat popular otherwise why would they play a random song from the 90s/00s so many times? Probably one of those good but not great so forgotten songs.

Surrounding songs were all over the place. From recent hits to Brittney Spears hits.

Your best bet is to call the casino and get as much info as you can on their playlist.
