Any genre, cartoons or live action
I'm thinking about watching Daria which is about a melodramatic emo girl back when emoism was still fresh
Another one that comes to mind, I think I remember but don't know the name: cartoon where the most famous figures of all time, Gandhi JFK etc, are brought down to child size and put into a hypothetical school.
Just looked it up: Clone High
My favourite I've seen is probably Freaks and Geeks, but I feel like so much has changed culturally between then (late 90s, early 00s) and now, and there's so much under radar cartoons these days, maybe some recommendations could hit a chord
Interested in stereotypical cliques, off the wall teachers/administration, and if possible season long story arcs of school happenings!

Couple months ago I wanted to give Clone High a shot and read great reviews and the reason they got canceled is it was to expensive to produce, so I guess thats good :lol
I would try it if I could commit to watching anything.

Thinking hard about that in fact! Good on your intuition to bring it up
What grades/subjects would you prefer to teach if you took that direction Jeff? What would be the hardest part about that environment? Building relationships over a long period of time? Focusing on the curriculum? Engaging the class democratically and avoiding too much favouritism?

I inclined towards Math, World History, anatomy, and Physical education. Some parts of English like vocab.
I have subbed at all the levels PreK to High.
I could see you being a good fit for Political Science, Communications, Anthropology, Psychology and perhaps any kind of logic or thinking or music or current events course.
Hardest part is being stuck doing the curriculum and dealing with disinterested too cool for school rowdy types. For you i would imagine kids would feel too comfy around you as you have an endearing personality.
The relationship building can be difficult as well. With guys there's mutual trust and respect so it's all good. With girls its trickier.
It gets annoying to deal with the banal petty things too. It also frustrating when they don't appreciate theopportunity or merit of education and prefer easy entertainment.
Favoritism wouldn't be too hard to avoid unless I meet someone who's a legit islamophobe in my case or aantisemite in yours
middle school and highschool are wack that's like the least interesting time in someones life.
the only highlights are the latter years of highschool feeling cool skipping class and discovering ALL of the drugs including puzzy perhaps the deadliest drug of them all - ask magic johnson when he finally dies from aids in the year 2079
being a teenager and being awkward are the exact same thing. what's so interesting about awkward undeveloped insecure people?
when was the last time you actually spent time with a teenager that wasn't your offspring meaning you weren't biased to see how retarded they actually are?
