Everyone was hating on the man for the AD trade and "forgetting" about cap space, yet he has maneuvered around the cap quite efficiently to fill out the roster all the while having to pick from "what is left" by the other teams.

I myself have also been critical of him, albeit I did put more of the blame on Magic for last years disaster.

Seriously, the team looks pretty damn solid, I cannot complain at all.

job well done

Guards: Rondo, Caruso, Cook, Bradley, KCP, Green, Daniels

Forwards: Kuzma, Lebron, Davis, Dudley, THT

Centers: Cousins, Mcgee

Having listed it out, we could use one more forward to solidify our depth. Iggy would be the perfect fit. Centers is actually three because of Davis, but listed him as a forward because that's what the big homie wants.

That team wins like 30 something games without LeBron

Forgot to add out two-way player, mr. game winner himself, Zach Norvell Jr.

Would like Cacok to be the 2nd two-way player, him or Jordan Howard.

I'm glad you pointed that out. The team was specifically made with Lebron in mind, something that was not done last off season. These guys fit well around Bron and AD.

Not a fan of KCP coming back and the overpay for Green. Bradley, Rondo(if he doesn't play with LeBron), Mcgee, and Boogie are all quality signings though. I wud give it a C+, maybe a B-. Just wish they would've went for FA's at the start instead of waiting for Kawhi though, I don't think he was seriously considering the Lakers at all.

Like most teams things have to break right for lakers to be title contenders mainly keeping AD and Lebron healthy. Secondly cousins needs to be the 3rd scorer or 4th with Kuzma both having 20-25 point nights on occasion. One of Caruso or cook has to have breakout season. Danny Green has to earn his 15 mil
Paycheck.

Hindsight is 20/20 but Lakers were ALWAYS going to try and get Kawhi so that timeline will never happen where they say FK IT and go for DLO and other meh players on huge contracts instead.

I give Pelinka a solid B+. If he gets Iggy throughout the season, he's pretty much done all he could with the Kawhi news in perfect fashion. Lakers were DEADLAST in 3 point catch and shoot. Soooo Pelinka got us 2 of the top 4 catch and shoot players from 3 last season in Green and Cook. Immediately we have jumped from dead last to 6th best in the league if we took the same players stats on this team. Pelinka built this team the proper way. No 1 year contracts, solid pick ups and had to overpay 2 guys by a little (given the circumstance, it was needed).

Honestly, I'm looking to see how much noise the Lakers can make this season.

Best of luck man.

I doubt he ever "forgot about" the cap

These media personalities just spin whatever narratives grab headlines. Kawhi pretty much exposed all of them for being utterly powerless though

How did he "expose" them? They made a trade for a 2nd star and gave him an opportunity to form a superteam but maybe he was intimidated by Lebron or AD and wanted to be the clear-cut #1 guy on another team :confusedshrug:

He exposed them for reporting 100 different scenarios and not one included a trade with OKC for Paul George.

There were PLENTY of "reputable" sources claiming that the Clippers were absolutely out of the picture, and that it was between the Lakers and Raptors. The only guy I can think of who bet it all on the Clippers was Jalen Rose, he came out 2 days before the decision and said the Clippers are 99% getting Kawhi and we all (most of us) laughed.

I'd rather overpay and land Green than lose him to the Mavs. It was reported the Mavs gave him a pretty good offer.

KCP is a highly questionable signing, but **** it. Lebron/Rich Paul landed us AD and if this is something they want, I'm good with it.

I think the team is looking much more like a team than if we had Kawhi and a bunch of vet min players.

If you got Kawhi, it would have been game over for the league.

Outside of Bradley, he's done a solid job bargain bin hunting. Also that McGee contract is more than I would've offered. He outbid himself for both those guys.

I wouldn't call Chris Broussard and dumbass Arye Abraham as reputable sources.

And of course none knew about the Paul George trade. Kawhi wanted everything quiet, and, outside of making it clear they wanted Shai last draft, Clipper FO has moved in silence.

The Blake trade, Tobias trade, etc., all in silence.

you have a lot of old men or injury prone players logging heavy minutes. cousins green rondo lebron that's damn near the entire starting lineup. not even counting AD as injury prone - he's been banged up before too.

squad still looks good on paper frank vogel gotta make sure he leans heavily on kuzma bradley etc the younger guys during the regular season.
