I don’t think I saw a topic on it but he’s starting at the 1 with green at the two. I don’t think he’s done it for long other than as a rookie before Jeff McGinnis got there and in a couple injury situations but with his play style it won’t be an obvious change I suspect.
I’m sure he has haters and fans with an opinion to offer though so here we are.

lebron will be a point guard on offense and a big/wing on defense so really only thing that has changed is there wont be a secondary ball handler. I'm pretty sure they start danny and bradley or kcp.
he already pounds the rock literally zero adjustment. they don't have a pointguard other than rondo so it makes sense gotta run it through lbj.
I really want to see what this team looks like with AD. I think they'll have injury problems but will BEAST at full strength.

It fixes the inherent flaw in his game
with lebron at pg, his ball-dominance is no longer abnormal, thereby eliminating the redundant, 2-PG nature of his previous teams
previously, his abnormal ball-dominance for a forward gave his teams two PG-style players on the court most of the time (the pg and lebron), which gave teammates less hold-time and assists than they get in 1-PG lineups on other teams.. Lower teammate assists gave the TEAM low asssists and a weak ball movement brand that struggled to achieve or maintain the best teams.
Lebron and the remaining cast will finally rank well in assists

Lebron
Green
Kuzma
AD
Cousins
They have one guy in the starting lineup who can guard a quick guard.
That means Lebron will have to guard SGs most of the time. Run after Klay on screens.
That backcourt will be exposed big time by any competent coach. SG is exactly the position that still runs around screens. Lebron want to guard PGs instead? Wants to guard Irving, Dame? Maybe Kuzma at 6-10 should be chasing Klay

Kuzma and Cousins won't start. It's either Pope or Bradley at the wing next to Green. McGee in the middle.

Posting what I posted in another thread..
We have not even had training camp, and we are 8 days into free-agency. WAAAAAAAAAAAY too early for any coach to take what Haynes said serious. The Lakers coaches are probably laughing over a cup of coffee at how idiotic it sounds. Haynes' source is probably sitting back smirking at the sh*tshow they caused by saying "OH OH, LEBRON STARTING AT PG!!".
It's utter nonsense at the present point in time for such a decision to have been made by any credible coach. Lets wait until training camp finishes, maybe even pre-season before we discuss who is starting where. Until then, it's nothing more than some executive's opinion based on their intuition. AKA nothing you can't get from some bum teenager in the mall who watches nba occasionally.
It could also be indirectly a message by Lakers brass to Rondo that he will not start. Throw LeBron at the pg, and now Rondo can't insist on starting.. Not like he can start at the 2 or 3.
Again, it's all speculation for now. Wait until preseason. Even when regular season starts, you will see variations in lineups until they find one that works most effectively.

PLAIN AND SIMPLE, Kuz comes off the bench! From there, start Avery Bradley at SG. Move Danny to the 3 spot. Avery can defend the PG's. While Danny and Bron can defend the SG and SF. OR the Lakers may choose to bring Boogie off the bench. And Kuz can start at the 4 while AD starts at the 5.
But with the lineup u mentioned, I still think it's their best scoring lineup. But they will lose something on defense. So hopefully Green and AD will be the defensive strengths. And Bron can up the ante as much as possible. So NO DOUBT we are going to see that lineup as well too. If this was peak Bron, that lineup wouldn't be a problem on defense.

I think they'd be better off starting Lebron and Bradley at PG and SG respectively, and switch defensively. I think their most 'effective' lineup would be from PG to C: Lebron, Bradley, Green, Kuzma and AD. That's their best defensive lineup, you got Green as your spacer and Kuzma/AD's games should mostly compliment each other. Bring Cousins off the bench and have him anchor the 2nd unit and dominate the back-up bigs on the other teams. Lebron should be playing about 28-30 minutes a night at the PG spot and spot duty the SF/PF position for 4-5 mins depending on the lineup/matchup, with Rondo gets the remaining PG minutes.

I don't believe this story. Yeah the Lakers pretty much only have Rondo as another ball handler...but Lebron will do what he always does.

LeBron should be playing 30mpg, PERIOD, in the regular season now at this point in his career. He'll likely have to play more since Anthony Davis isn't exactly known for his health and will likely miss 12-20 games this season.

Nothing new here. He plays PG all the time. Walks the ball up, stands, dribbles. The fact that they're actually putting his name next to the "1" is the only difference I see.
What would have been news, is if there was a report that Lebron plans to dedicate himself to playing off the ball this season to promote more ball movement in the offense.

Instead it's basically announced that he's going to hog and monopolize the ball harder than he already has in his career... if that's even possible.

He should, but I doubt he would even if AD is healthy.

Lebron has too much pride. Ideally for the rest of his career he one plays 60-65 games at 30mpg...but he's just so damn good still that whatever team he is on will lose a good amount of impact with him not playing.
Honestly the Lakers just need to get the 4 or 5 seed this year and be healthy for the playoffs.

Kind of funny when people call the Cavs a super team when you look at the on/off for those teams. For the 2016 playoffs LeBron was a +21.5. Nobody else who played significant mins was higher than a +8.8. (Kevin Love) Kyrie wasn't even a positive, but had a -0.8. lol If LeBron wasn't on the team they'd just be an average team. A super team should still be a pretty good team if you just take one star away and the Cavs would not have been a pretty good team if you took LeBron out of the lineup.
