View Full Version : Kevin Durant was never a snake. Kawhi was the NBA's snake all along.

This is going to be long and a bit of rambling, so don't read it. Anyways...

Kevin Durant is a genuinely good dude that gets way too caught up in what people think about him. He literally is not built to handle being a famous person. He hears everything that everyone says and it eats at him.

Kevin Durant is also the only guy that put up a better regular season than LeBron during LeBron's prime (2008-2015). The only single one. Never forget that. I guess arguably Steph in 2015, but I digress.

Anyways... Kevin Durant never did anything cold hearted or manipulative. He was just guilty and is still guilty of being overly sensitive... which doesn't make him a bad person. By all accounts, KD is a good dude. Really. He never lied to or manipulated anyone (except maybe his Thunder teammates for one night... or maybe he changed his mind again)

He was just a misguided kid trying to grow into a man when he joined Golden State. He thought he would get validation from getting the titles that people say he so desperately needed. But he didn't need them. Kevin Durant wasn't any better of a player once he won titles... and he wouldn't have been any lesser of a player had they not won. If he wins one with Brooklyn, he won't have suddenly become a better basketball player. That's not how reality works.

Hopefully he can get one in Brooklyn, though I doubt it, so he obtains that validation for himself that he so desperately craves. KD, my man, you will be as great of an NBA player after another title as you were before it. The end result doesn't change how good you were or weren't.

People get caught up in ultimate outcomes on a team based sport... anyhow...

Kawhi is the real NBA snake and he has been for a long time. His ego is absolutely gigantic and out of control. And people thought he was a good dude, me being one of them, because he remained mostly quiet. Ha. Yeah... right. Kawhi might be one of the shittiest dudes in the NBA if not the straight up shittiest, tbh.

No... Kawhi basically threw a hissy fit because the Spurs, a flawlessly run organization, wouldn't bow to his every whim about his health. They diagnosed him as having an ongoing condition... and that he was healthy. He repeatedly insisted that they were wrong.

And in hindsight, they were absolutely correct, despite the fact that he repeatedly insisted otherwise. He is still having the same problems now as he was back when this first started occurring. Is it because he's still injured and needs to recover? No! He's healthy! But he has an ongoing condition. And the Spurs got absolutely shit on despite the fact that their diagnosis was correct, and Kawhi's own doctors agreed with the Spurs diagnosis. Does anyone other than Spurs fan remember Kawhi being the bad guy in that situation? No? Because he masterfully manipulated the media.

He also froze out the Spurs from communication with him as best as he possibly could to ease his conscience of demanding a trade.

Kawhi and his camp also manipulated Jalen Rose and Cris Carter during the past month so that they could gain leverage with the Clippers to force their hand at giving away the farm for Paul George. I knew Kawhi wasn't dumb and indecisive. I never bought that... some people here tried to tell me he was... nope... he knew all along what he wanted. He wanted to go back to LA and he couldn't emotionally handle being in LeBron's shadow on the Lakers, so he picked the Clippers.

He was playing the Lakers and he was playing the Raptors for his benefit and to both of their detriment so he could go back home to LA and be the man (away from LeBron) on a team and try to win a title. And he did it the most dirty way possible... by stringing them along for his own personal benefit. Or are we really supposed to believe Cris Carter and Jalen Rose were both lying? Hell no! They were telling the truth... in terms of what was fed to them... Cris Carter - Kawhi to Lakers, Jalen Rose - Kawhi to Raptors... nobody(other than Woj who wasn't a Kawhi insider) to Clippers and Dave Ping. Manipulation at its finest, ladies and gentlemen.

Kawhi tried to collude with KD... failed. He tried to collude with Kyrie... failed. So he settled for Paul George and forced him to force a trade off of his team. That's some dirty ****ing shit, tbh.

So let's sum this up... KD made a mistake joining GS because he was hurt and in his feelings people saying he hadn't won titles... and never disrespected anyone or intentionally hurt anyone.

Kawhi was a malcontent on the Spurs who successfully got that orgnization's name drug through the mud and slandered. He lied to the Raptors making them believe he was undecided this offseason to hurt them and for his own gain. He lied to the Lakers making them believe he was undecided this offseason to hurt them and for his own gain. He completely ****ed over the Thunder by coercing arguably their best player into demanding a trade.

Kawhi Leonard is the NBA's true villain. The dude is an absolute snake and I hope he gets what's coming to him, on an NBA level.

Skip Bayless: Kawhi Leonard quit on the Spurs, crumbled under the pressure to live up to MVP and Face of Franchise expectations. The most conservative/patient med staff in sports, the Spurs', cleared him to play 2 MONTHS AGO! Has a thigh bruise! Making 19 mil! Left team. Won't talk.

Tony Parker: I’ve been through it. It was a rehab for me for eight months. Same kind of injury (as Kawhi), but mine was a hundred times worse. But the same kind of injury. You just stay positive."

He did Toronto extremely dirty. That team catered to him all season long. Let him take off games and limited his minutes. Traded for Marc Gasol and went all in with this guy. Gave him knock down shooters and elite defensive help and he bolts.

Nothing to be concerned about though.. He had to settle for Playoff P. There will be no Marc Gasol to hold off the Embiid's, Jokic's and Davis' of the world. They will lose in the 2nd round.

Lebron and Durant have a lot to learn from kawhi pr wise. He handled the parade really well making fun of his own laugh and became pretty well liked this year even though his trade situation was one of the bigger shitshows I

Or...perhaps he felt he was still injured in SA. Perhaps he wasn't injured, but in his mind he is. And he's afraid to go out there and be the next Grant Hill or something. And then they called him out publicly and humiliated him.

Or...perhaps he wasn't comfortable with Clippers the way it was, seeing how many other teams had at least two stars. He felt like if he were to have a real chance at the title, it would need to have another star. Or else he might pick Lakers or Raptors. A lot of these moves depend on circumstances. If Toronto had acquired another star, Kawhi might've resigned with them.

It was around the same time that he brought uncle dennis on as his agent and he was struggling to get the shoe deal that they wanted (due to being a mute) that they decided the small market of SA was the problem, so it was time to go home to the big market of LA.

Problem was, he still had about 2 seasons left on his contract...so instead of seeing it through like someone with integrity, Uncle Dennis and nephew suddenly pulled the injury card and threw a tantrum.

Funny how he finished the season before without that injury and somehow couldn't start the next season due to it....no one had ever heard of it...he also went to china during this time off as players do.

The whole thing was suss as fvck and its hilarious watching these rookies on here speak like they know what's going on because they heard uncle dennis side on ESPN hahaha

I followed this closely from the moment it started...it was the most suss thing ever.

Kawhi is awkward and quiet but that doesn't mean he is humble or a good guy, i agree. The situation in San Antonio looked bad but it was kind of brushed off, true. He left the Raptors but that was expected from the start.

KD seems like an honest guy. He says what he thinks.(even called Lebron's media toxic) He cares about winning. And he shows emotions.
But the reason people dislikes KD is he killed the competition in NBA. He went to a direct rival and the best team as the best player in NBA. That's ridiculous. Most sensitive guy in basketball history makes the most controversial move off all time?

And the main reason you dislike Kawhi is he ditched your guy and chose to compete against him. Timing proves that. Yeah he also joined Paul George but Lebron built a carreer off that. This post of yours is actually pathetic.

You simply misprofiled KD.

Oh he just wants to play with his friends? Yeah, but he's making sure he's doing it on a loaded team, where he doesn't have to go through any organic process of team building/growing, or helping a team and it's youngin's from the ground up, morphe them.

Durant is / was a cupcake ....
but Warriors may have realized before it happened , that they needed more help to get 2 chips :confusedshrug:

All these guys are Alpha studs, and a move to Nets told me more about the selfish mentality of the Warriors than of Durant.
I seriously believe they never excepted him as 100% a Warrior.

Leonard is the perfect example of 0 (ZERO) loyalty to a franchise.

Leonard didn't do it himself , he was highly coached in Pop's system and made him an elite player.
That loyalty showed up in Toronto when he won a chip WITH the franchise and LEFT them equaling 2 franchises he left in his some what short BBall career.
AND guess what folks he will be leaving CLIPPERS as well.
BET ON IT.
Clips have one of the best owners in the league as well as coaching staff.
It doesn't matter - he will leave.

You and I think alike when it comes to measuring the greatness of a player, but we're in the minority. Everyone else moves players upwards on their top players list when their team wins (regardless of context and how they played in losing seasons), including those in the media.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQkYxfenDHA

Charles Barkley was livid when Kenny Smith and Ahmad Rashad suggested Kobe was a top 10 player in June 2009.

Charles Barkley now has Kobe as a Top 5 GOAT. :wtf:

We know Kobe didn't drastically improve after June 2009. He was basically the same player the following year, and then he regressed.

As for KD/Kawhi, great article.. some sports media outlet should publish that.

Part of the hate for KD and less hate for Kawhi is the result of each player's decision:

KD's move made the NBA less fun to watch. Warriors grew way too stacked with him and it was almost a guaranteed championship every year they remained healthy.

Kawhi's move makes the NBA more fun to watch. Not saying that was his intent, but that's the result.
