Everyone has recency bias. Lebron wins a title and all the talk is about whether he's better than MJ. Kawhi wins a title and all of a sudden he's the best in the game, never mind Giannis won MVP, and nobody is talking about Lebron surpassing MJ, other than Simon.

Yep, if LeBron wins the title/FMVP next year he'll get a lot of consideration for GOAT

Their logic is backwards. Lebron’s not even in the conversation. There’s nothing that 6 time loser can do other than win 2nd man rings at this point. Recency bias would result in 73% of current NBA players NOT voting for a guy who’s last ring was 21 years ago, not the other way around.

Yeah, we've heard this song and dance before.... instead we got 6 finals losses.

It's over dude.... it was over in 2011. Nothing will change that.

It doesn't even matter if you or I agree with it, whether you like it or not if he does win that's literally going to happen

LOL no he won't hahahah

He's flat out not a better player and never was....nothing can change that, especially after he has peaked and now has AD carrying him.

I love how SAS and Kellerman complain about recency bias of that poll when MJ retired 21 years ago

If anything, recency bias should be helping LeBron way more.

I don't care about the ESPN list but how was the question asked? Did they want people to make up a top 5 list or top 10 list? Or were people just flat out asked to name your GOAT? If it's the latter then it makes sense, MJ was a superior player to Bird, KAJ, Magic and everyone since...plenty of people old enough to have seen their primes still running around. There are less people around who watched prime Wilt, Russell, Baylor, West etc, these polls will not be too kind to them.
