Also, LeBron sucks.

Bird is a better passer and player than Bran and it's not close.

Bird played off ball far more often and still nearly matches him in assists.

Bran ball produces stats.

But Bird is just such a better passer.

Again and again, whoever said Lebron is a better "passer" than Bird, had never watched Bird played, and don't know anything about basketball.

For Lebron stans, quantity equals to quality.

And the crazy thing is, Bird would be considered too slow and unathletic today.

He wouldn't even get a chance to prove himself.

A f ucking GOAT tier player would be made a spot up shooter in today's league.

Jokic fell through the cracks and was extremely fortunate a coach gave him a chance to lead.

Doctor asked Bird not to dive that much, but Bird did not listen and played the way he wanted to play.
His career was shortened, but he got more respect. His prime was one of the GOAT.

The skills and ball handling and vision that Bird had, he could be one of the best PG in the league today.

Of course, he probably could not guard the flashy and speedy guards these days, but he has the size and anticipation to guard the forward positions.

Better passer and better playmaker are 2 different things.

Bird has GOAT tier court vision and can throw some insane passes that no one else could pull off but Bird can't orchestrate an entire offense the way LeBron has done

Bird is a better passer and not because of the gifs posted. We can post a million gifs and video clips of Bron making incredible and timely passes.

I'll repeat it again as I've stated in why I believe MJ is a better passer than Bron.

Bird controls the flow of the offence, sets up and creates for his teammates and more importantly..... does all this because he reads and reacts to the defence quicker than Lebron.

All the great passers that Bron gets compared to (Bird, Magic, MJ etc) don't need to pound the ball for eons, they don't need to hold it and hold it, they don't simply kick out to the shooters in a drive. They act quicker, they act more timely, they 'create' better opportunities for their teammates, they control the flow of the game better than Bron ever has on a more consistent basis.

Again, being a great passer isn't about making fancy highlight passes or filling out the stats sheet.

The passing that Bird does is so much proof of his superhigh IQ. Touch passes, I made one the other day to win the game. It was point game and the other team was pressing and overplaying the hell out of everyone going for steals. So my teammate is falling out of bounds and just throws it up in the middle of the court like an idiot. I take my chance to jump for the loose ball and I see my teammate underneath the basket from the corner of my eye and just touch pass it right to him for the win. I felt like such a hero.

And everyone gave props to the guy that finished off the game on a wide open layup. In my mind I'm thinking WTF, that play was 99% me for that hard earned win. The disrespect is real for us older high IQ folks I swear. It did help that my teammate was wearing bright red, which allowed me to see him from the corner of my eye :oldlol:

But yeah, Bird with dat HIGH IQ :pimp:

Both Bird and LeBron are the greatest passing forwards ever, Bird had better vision and was less ball-dominant, so his passing was more eye pleasing, but LeBron has the advantage on the zip of his passes, he can throw you a perfect fast ball pass from 30 feet, LeBron's superior ball-handling and ability to drive and kick is also an advantage he has on Bird.

Both have different styles.

You know Bird was a point forward, and orchestrate Boston's defense right?

You can call him whatever, PG, SF, PF, play maker, ball handler... it is not about who is a better passer and who is not. The way Bird distributing the ball, controlling the tempo and have the whole team execute the offense already proved that he could play the PG position.
Most importantly, he did not need to hold that ball long like Lebron and dominate the possession.

Can you imagine bird in this watered down league where you aren't even allowed to play proper defense? He'd be 2nd only to Jordan. While Jordan and Bird were both better passers than lebron they would be even better passers than they already were had they played during this defensive era that has more holes than Swiss cheese.:applause:

Imagine if they didn't have to dribble up court with their backs to the defender like they had to back then because the defense was so tight it was like an actual war.

One of Birds assets was Chief and McHale -----> they expected a pass from Bird cause bird always looked for the easiest shot.

Lebron is the same way - has more dimes , but he never had players that would end up in the HOF.

Bird was a great athlete by nba standards. Size, speed, strength, quickness, agility, he had it all. One of those gifs showing his top speed was no joke chasing a loose ball to the other end of the floor.

The comparison I'd make from this thread is Lamar Jackson. Similar to Bird's athleticism, his talent as a passing qb is greatly underappreciated. Those racist stereotypes we all love really mess with player evaluations.
