At first I was going to show how Harden and Westbrook were so incompatible in OKC so how is it going to work now. But it seems they co-existed pretty great back then.

2011-12 Regular season 2-man combination:

J. Harden | R. Westbrook (1231 minutes) +10.7 / 100 poss

2011-12 Playoff 2-man combination:

J. Harden | R. Westbrook (458 Minutes) +13.9 / 100 poss

As a comparison last season's Rockets Playoff 2-man combination:

J. Harden | C. Paul (298 Minutes) +6.9 / 100 poss

What a amazing duo + they had KD as well, i wonder who was able to take them down...

Hardon was a 6th man back then.. but still a massive choker when it mattered:lol

That's before he had one of the highest usage rates ever like now, so it's hard to see this ending well..

Who's playing off the ball? Or is this gonna be a 'my turn, your turn offense'? Cause we all know how well that's likely to end up.

Let's start the conversation there.

Harden choked BADLY in the 2012 finals, costing Westbrook and Durant a rang. If he plays half as good as he did against us the previous round, they easily push Bran's shit in en route to a chip.

You can't seriously compare how they played together EIGHT years ago with drastically different roles AND with Durant in the mix. Harden was coming off the bench for fcks sake :lol

So, maybe the Thunder should have traded Durant instead of Harden or Russ..

They both have to learn to play off ball. Westbrook absolutely must. Harden is a great ISO player but they can't be ball watching or taking turns. Even though that has been their style, I hope they can do other stuff to make each other's lives easier.

If they were serious about winning then Westbrook should come off the bench. Call it Harden's revenge.

i think everyone is underselling them because of fit...

yea it will be ugly, and very likely lose in the playoffs, but it should be a dominant regular season. These guys alone can carry a team to 50 wins, together they should hit 60+.

The problem with Paul is he was always load management'ing it and leaving Harden to carry the bag. Westbrook will help keep him fresh and maybe capable of saving himself for end season.

its gonna be some ugggly hot potato iso ball though. :lol

fans of teamwork beware.

Foul trouble is going to be a problem for a lot of teams vs houston. Gordon, westbrook and harden all attack the rim pretty relentlessly. Houston last year was 3rd in FT makes, while their opponents were 21st. That chasm is going to widen.
