View Full Version : Which team do you say QUIETLY got way better this offseason?

What team do you think deserves more attention for the fine offseason they had this summer? A team that clearly got better, yet isn't getting the mentions they deserve?

(And why, of course)

Lakers and Clippers.

NBA? Quiet?

Every move was highly publicized and talked about. The only team I can think of whose moves weren't really talked about much are the Sacramento Kings, but they are a team full of role players. I don't see them making the playoffs, yet they now have enough players for 3 full lineups lol.

Pelicans. YDK and lonzo will have their best seasons so far. Zion might be raw outside the paint, but physically he’s NBA ready and will bang out. Add nice vet pick ups in reddick and favors, and this team can quietly get above 40 win mark. Might not be good enough for playoffs but a notable jump from last season

I can't wait to see Coby White the next season. Seems like a good kid, I just hope he can make an impact.

Quietly would have to be the Knicks.

Agreed, Rubio to Conley is a night and day upgrade alone while Denver picking up Grant for a bag of peanuts was sneaky good.
Nothing crazy good, but two of the better teams in the west got a even better.

Utah has a bunch of two way players and high iq guys.

They're going to be a problem in the regular season. if Mitchell takes that next step, then they're even more dangerous in the playoffs.

I like what the Pacers did in the EC.

i expect Denver to slide this season. Utah will be what Denver was last year.

i'm not sure denver slides and i'm not even projecting murray to make another jump. They had some injury issues from harris and barton last year who also came back rusty and played meh. Morris/beasley might not be as effective but health should make up for that. Grant deepens their bench, a nice role player. I dont think Jokic has plateaued.

Even without KD we're a top team in the East.

Kyrie will have a MVP type season under Kennys system and take us to the conference finals

People are overrating Conley.

Went from a guy that should be a backup to a fringe all star. They now have 3 guys that can put up 20 points a game from all over the floor. They have the number one dunker of all time. That's 80 points for a team that usually can win with 90-100 points. Lots of shooters. Pick your poison. One of the top defensive teams just became one of the top offensive teams too. Makes them one of the top teams.

Going to miss Bojan I'd think as well. Oladipo won't be back until January or something like that

Yeah for sure.

They were one of the deepest teams in the L. That was their biggest strength.

Go back to the eve of the playoffs last year and all the Kobe stans were talking them down to discredit Lebron. I told them not to sleep, they didn't listen. Pacers came out and gave the Cavs the biggest challenge in their Eastern playoffs run.

They are never one national TV, so I feel one of the privileged few that gets to see them play 4 times a year :oldlol:

Bojan and Thad are big outs. Even with the addition of 'White Iverson'. I don't really see them being better than 2018.

Utah Jazz. People think Mike Conley's the only upgrade. They also get a huge upgrade in Bojan. Their bench is also very formidable now.

I heard that point guard they got from Philly is pretty good too. Will be keeping an eye out.

I hope Rubio's presence will help Ayton, but I don't think they got way better.

I don't think there is any team that got much better, except for the Clippers, Lakers.

Hoping for the Celtics' young core to make an improvement next year. Maybe Hayward will be back to his former self.
