View Full Version : We forgot how fun a 2-star league is

I'm more excited for league now than I've been since I last watched in 2003.

A 2-star league is the natural order of basketball. A batman and a robin. Not a full avengers team of superman, batman and the hulk, with help from the refs (lex luthor tech).

A 2-star league also gives all teams a chance while weeding the wheat from the chaff.

Harden has Westbrook or Westbrook has Harden. Both former MVPs. Can they set aside differences and get it done?

Jokic doesn't have a second star, so he is sort of more like Reggie Miller or Allen Iverson. His teams will fight valiantly, but in a 2-star league, he likely won't get it done.

I like this 2-star league.

2star is fine but a couple teams clearly have more than 2-stars

Philly with Embiid, Horford and Simmons
Lakers with AD, LeBron and Cousins
Golden State with Curry, Green and D’Lo

Lebron made the league unfair? But he only won the championship 3 times out of 16 years...That doesn't seem too unfair to me.

Because he's a choker. Several other would've won more titles with his supporting casts

im not referring to him being mentally weak to take the unfair advantage he gave himself and unable to convert.... but collusion is his legacy and created this new league where stars need to hold other stars hands....

ahh the good ol days, when the mailman and the glove left their respective teams to sign multi year max deals in their prime

or when garnett and allen just got up and left their teams aswell by their own will, not by a team looking to rebuild and trading away their guys for assets...

just like lebron who left his team by quitting in the playoffs, and called up 2 other top 5 players who also hit free agency and teamed up for not1, not2, not3, not 4

Okay sure the way they came together was different. More integrity. I can agree.

But isn't the point of the thread about the end result? Because even before the collusion era, you can look back at stacked casts like Magic-Worthy-Kareem and see that they made the Finals year after year after year. I think OP is just saying the league is more interesting this way, as opposed to starting a diatribe against LeBron for changing it in the first place.

I dig it. I was going over a list of NBA duos this season on a Facebook post I saw, and I started getting nostalgia vibes. I thought to myself ‘wait a minute, this is like NBA Jam!’

I think this season will be a good one
