View Full Version : Do you have the sportsmanship to allow this to happen to you?

Id like to think my sportsmanship rating is above average. I could be on the bad end of a play and give props. Think....Kemp on Gatling:

I swear to god if there is ever some kind ISH meetup basketball game and one of these young whippersnappers is at any point sitting on my neck I expect Shogun, Daheezy, Johnnysic, Gobb, Crisoner or one of my long time vets to come off a top rope somewhere on some Road Warriors shit.

Look at this guy just strolling around with those nuts on his neck like shit is cool....

It would take all the restraint I had to not look for the scorers table to:

His teammates are soft for allowing it. Somebody needs to take him out and get happily ejected like Andrew Bynum. Peel that jersey off and get booed crazy while you walk to the showers.

Guy should've dropped him on his head for purposely riding his back like that.

Another example of a self hating liberal cuck.

Probably not, I once jump kicked a kid during recess when he was trying to draw a charge.

No f*cking way. I'd lean my head forward and push him off immediately. Not gonna be an extra dick about it... I mean I did just get yammed on, respect where it's due. But you're not gonna sit on my neck and make me look like that.

I don't understand dudes that gimme pounds after I hit a dramatic 2 in their faces. I'm like OK I'll bite but only because I don't wanna make eye contact with you for sonning you.

Yep. Hate the buddy buddy shit. Even in a pickup game... We are boys before and after, but the game is not fun unless we try to destroy each other.

Ive had cousins and friends dunk on me. Not that badly...but its happened. I can give props. But that sitting on the neck shit is where I draw the line.

I was in the process of making a topic on how much sportsmanship do you even want shown between opponents when I remembered this. I'll just use it instead of making a new one....

You have any problem with either of these plays?

I dont. I think the league needs more players with a "**** him....." mentality. I want all my guys walking around with the Demarcus Cousins face at all times. At least in the playoffs.

No sportmanship will make basketball as bad as soccer. I've seen soccer games with 6 year old kids flop and flop and flop just cause it's common and what stars do.
It'll happen the same in basketball. Kids scoring, then doing some stupid dance like Curry, or throwing themselves to their defender, cause Harden does it too.

I hear you on the lack of sportsmanship and where it can go.....I just feel a line has to be drawn. I dont mind not being friendly with the opponent.

Id say....dont try to injure people....and dont do things that would require a fight off the court. Dont spit. Dont speak on someones kids or wife. Keep it about basketball.

Beyond that....im good with most.

It also depends on how serious the game is being. If it is just a friendly game where both teams are fooling around, I don't mind.

If it is a serious game, I will most likely never congratulate the opponents if they do something good or great.

It is also difficult for me to shake hands after a loss, but I end up doing it.

Fortunately, I don't ever play basketball with anyone athletic enough to dunk on me. If they wrap their legs around my head, they will get slammed.

Purposefully throwing someone's shoe is where I draw the line. Borderline cheating if we're being honest because they literally can't play with just one shoe on.

Ish is too anonymous and angry these days for that. There was a time it was possible. I ran a board for ish posters to talk about other things like 18 years ago till maybe 5 years ago before ish had an off court forum. Posters there were closer. Many meetups. Off the top of my head about 9 posters had meetups myself included.

But that was when we were a little more adult around here with the trolls fewer and less aggressive.

Tbh, I’d be very upset and would seek retaliation. I’d have to smoke some crack rock and get back to you on the details of the form of retaliation however.

Guy throws the ball off your dick….extends a hand in apology and sportsmanship…then drops a dime to the cutter as the team is distracted.

Sportsmanship or quick thinking diabolical?

Love me some sportsmanship these days. It's much better to play with and against guys who are straight up killers and not some weak sauce dudes who can't even give you a reason to dab them up.

I'm also the type to correct an incorrect score even if the correction is of no benefit to my team.

Last week and I accidentally knocked a dudes head trying to block him from behind - credit to him he said it did not impact the shot, I argued back saying I still hit you in the ****ing head.

Good times...

rightards don't know what sportsmanship means , unless you are talking to them about black hangings while they are members of the KKK (proud boys)
