I figured y'all may want an extra $125+ so... in case you haven't heard, Equifax is giving $125+ to people impacted by the credit card breach.

The link is in that article.
The form took me about 5 minutes.
Maybe you should check if you're eligible too?

Thanks for the link. Been meaning to do this.
Just filled one out for myself and my wife (both eligible)
I also stated that we spent 4 hours each "checking up" with our credit card companies regarding the breach :pimp:
Article states no payments will be made until January 2020 at the earliest.

Is anyone else trying to figure out how to lie on the time claim? 25 an hour? Can I say that I spent 10 hours reading about the data breach and how it affected me? :lol

I chose the 10yr free credit monitoring. Is that worth it?

Why would you do that?:lol
Anyone steals your credit cards you're not liable anyway. Who gives a shit? It's a worthless thing to have.
Any time I've ever had a fraudulent charge my credit card comapny removes it immediately. Take the cash. It's a far better option.

yeah but i decided against it cuz of the time lol.
So data was breached and we're all putting our socials again to make a claim?
Based on the information you provided, our records indicate that your personal information was not impacted by this incident. Equifax has worked hard to make the “Am I Impacted” tool as accurate and up-to-date as possible.
Don't know if I should be happy

It says I was impacted.
So I can claim the 125 without an issue?
I'm not trying to get arrested for fraud.

I reading that the better option is to pick the ten years of free credit monitoring, because the more people that file for the "$125" the less they're going to get. For example if everyone that qualifies files, they will all get 21 cents.

It's not about stealing your active CC. People can open up new ones without you knowing because they have your SS # and info.

I know that but still going to make it sounds like that's what worried me. Most people putting in claims don't really know what happened.
I check credit karma a lot to see what cards I have open. Hopefully that's good enough.

[QUOTE]NerdWallet noted in an article this week that "there would need to be no more than 248,000 approved claims out of the 147 million consumers affected

Yeah, nobody is getting anywhere close to $125 :oldlol:
Most people won't file. Half probably won't even read about it. Most don't even care.

so say I owe someone else $125, and this money is going towards them once the payment has been received, can I go ahead and say it's whoever getting my debt back filling out said form?
