MJ told Kerr that if they double off him, be ready for the pass. Kerr's response 'if they double off you...I'll be ready.

That's years of chemistry, trust and respect for your teammate on the floor. Simpletons would call such a play as being 'bailed out' or whatever, but in reality they knew exactly what the Jazz would do defensively because the odds are MJ would take the shot under those circumstances.

Right. During the timeout, you could audibly hear Jordan tell her "Stockton is going to come off you". Kerr's immediate repost was "If he comes off, I'll be ready". Jordan then finished off his Gatorade and the play unfolded exactly as he anticipated it would. Kerr was ready for the open 15 footer that Jordan told him he'd get and that was that. The Bulls won their 5th title.

They played Jordan straight up in game 1 and he scored the game winner on 1 on 1 coverage on Russel. Jerry Sloan didn't want Jordan to take the last shot, whatever happened.

People ignoring this little nugget of truth. Had Kerr missed, the Jazz still would have needed to win Game 7 in Chicago against a pissed off opponent with championship experience and the best player in the game.

Ray Allen's shot saved Miami's season and prevented a huge black mark on LeBron's legacy. LeBron was allowed a chance to redeem himself in Game 7 because he was largely terrible in the previous 6 games outside of Game 4.

Not even. If Kerr misses that shot, the Jazz have to convert on the next play with a few seconds left or win in OT just to make it to game 7. In Chicago, the odds of that are still against them.

If Ray's shot misses, then there's still 5 seconds left in the game to get the offensive rebound and get the ball back out for another 3PA.

Tony Parker got a 12ft shot off in that 5 seconds after a timeout. Spurs had 2 chances (the other being in OT) and they still lost.
