It is very simple. There is no way to ELEVATE LeBron to elite all time great status, even though he's been the best player in the league for over a decade long stretch.

He just doesn't live up to the legacies of former best players in the league. Everyone knows this. And LeBron stans knows there is no one to make the positive argument for LeBron. So what choice do they have? Tear down the legends of the past and present. Tear them all down. Try to make us believe that greatness is impossible and never happened before and that LeBron not achieving greatness is no different from anyone else in the past because they weren't so great either.

LeBron stans have to try to convince everyone that the NBA has always sucked and the legends of the past sucked and everyone now sucks. And that LeBron somehow is the least sucky of these sucky NBA players.
