Albeit, I was a kid when I started following the Bulls around in the early 80s but while all my childhood friends were either Lakers or Celtics fans, I was always a hometown homer (Bulls, Bears, Blackhawks, Sox and Cubs). I remember I asked my mom to buy me a white hoodie with the Bulls logo and when I would wear it, my friends would make fun of me...this was around 84 or 85. Needless to say, these fellow Chicago kids who made fun of me being a Bulls fan, later became "Bulls fans" themselves during the dynasty years...wish I could go back and ask them what was so funny about being a Bulls fan in the early 80s :lol
