View Full Version : Antagonists in films that actually felt like a real threat

Horror, comic, drama, thriller, etc. Any genre

Doomsday was OP imo, manhandling Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman simultaneously with ease. If not for Krypto, RIP earth

Kylo and Rey could barely keep up with a few Emperor guards together. Darth Maul OTOH took on Qui-Gon and Obi with his eyes closed, actually killing Liam Neeson in film.

We need to talk about Kevin, one of the most disturbing and uncomfortable flicks. No spoilers, must see

joker though not a physical one. a lot of action movies have 2 heros vs 1 villain as the final fight so the villain usually feels threatening

Lmao doomsday a threat? He was just a ugly useless CGI monster who was there to announce the death of Superman

The Dark Knight Joker is the best comic book villain by far. On opening night when you had no idea what was going to happen the whole movie felt like it was moving at his accord

I'll prol get clowned for this but dude in V for Vendetta was kinda disturbing.

Edit: Btw talking about the anti-hero dude w/ the mask.

A girl told me to watch it backwhen and I was like ok... kinda an underrated (albeit pretty bad) disturbing movie. She also told me to watch Hard Candy, that shit was ****ing bonkers. I had to go in on her like dafaq are you telling me to watch this shit for???

Ah the perks of being young.

but did you bang her?

haha almost but no. Had a lot of mixed up emotions back then. Not gonna explain my psyche, but let's just say I felt it was a bad look. Do I regret? Dunno. In fantasy land where it can just be a one time thing that you never have to deal with after, maybe.

Of course that ruins relationships, too. She was cool.

Buuut, yea it probably would have been worth it for some ragey hair pulling lvl shit.

Don't tell anyone I told you this.

F*cking Hard Candy.

:facepalm

A girl I was friends with talked me into watching that shit way back. She was all giggity over the female lead, like "What a boss ass bitch!"

Should come as no surprise that girl grew up to be a total headcase. Not a "cut your balls off" headcase, but definitely a "gender is a choice" headcase. Just an annoying, overly-opinionated, delusional f*ckwit. So glad I don't associate with that bitch anymore. Ha.

I seriously hated every second of that piece-of-shit movie.

Thanos, the dude won 14,000,604 times vs the Avengers (a 99.999993% success rate), succeeded in his goal of wiping out half of all life AND destroyed the stones afterwards so that they couldn't undo his work (obviously they eventually did but at that point time travel wasn't seen as a possibility). And even with the fact that they brought everyone back, it took 5 whole years just for that to happen.

Mike Barnes Karate Kid 3. He was clearly on another level. Daniel fluked out that win. Barnes would have destroyed Johnny if they had met as well

Drugs in Requiem for a Dream. Saw that movie at the perfect influential time of my life, 10th-gradish. I’d go on to experiment a little with drugs, nothing too heavy. But I reached a point where cocaine became a seriously tempting trap, and thanks to that movie, I was aware enough to be able to say **** it and just stop being stupid before it spiraled. Thankfully.
