I'm biased toward Vince as a Nets fan; I loved his years with the team. He should get in. He wasn't a great winner, but as others have said... look at some of the guys they've allowed in. :lol

Greatest dunker of all time.

Let him in.

Pretty much everyone who's made at least 8 all-stars is in the HOF right now. Vince was a star player for probably 10-11 years of his career and has been a solid role player since. He's also the greatest dunker of all time, and it's not even close. Yes he's a hall of famer

Arguably the best dunker of all time and IIRC he's gonna break the most seasons played record this season... Hall of Famer

I fail to see what is easy about having a consistent and lengthy career...

Everybody within 5000 points of what hes scored is either in the Hall of Fame already or waiting to be eligible(Joe Johnson narrowly outside the 5000 and not quite ruining my point).

Lol, that's not at all what he said. He's 100% correct that the basketball HOF votes in by far the least deserving players compared to the other sports. Baseball for example is the complete opposite

tbh I cannot comment, I don't watch stick ball and don't really keep up with who is in the hall of fame lol. All I know is that he absolutely deserves it.

Who would you say from recent years was undeserving of a HOF spot in the NBA?

You can look at who's in the hall and make a pretty intelligent assumption that he's in the first year of eligibility.

All star selections is not a good measuring stick for arguing someone being a Hall of famer. It

All star selections is not a good measuring stick for arguing someone being a Hall of famer. It’s more of a footnote to someone’s career. There are other things that hold more weigh and are factored in before you get to talking about All Star appearances when it comes to a person being HOF worthy. Maybe if you said 8 all nba teams I would agree with you.

Also puzzled at how someone can be a star for 10-11 years and only an All Star for 8.
Wish more people thought this way.

AS selections are from what you did in a little over a half a season. If you get hurt and out for the rest of the year or just regress over the rest of the season, it doesn't matter cause you were already voted an AS.

Or examples of guys (Yao Ming 2011) only playing a handful of games before the AS break and still get voted in.

Selected for an All NBA Team is where it's at when it comes to offensive recognition

I don't think it's unanimous due to his lack of defense:no:

He'll make it, but he doesn't deserve it.

Highly overrated with a couple of great seasons

Made all-star games while missing tons of games due to popularity.

Wilted when the pressure came.

Quit, even.

Not in my HOF.

He should be a hall of famer for his dunking alone.

His creativity inspired millions and undoubtedly contributed to the way players play the game.

I understand that the HOF is watered down and all. BUT even if the standards were stricter, Vince would STILL be an HOFer! He was great for a long enough period of time. Not quite a top 10 GOAT SG. But I think he's a top 15 GOAT SG. From there, his peak-prime is arguably in the top 10 SG's of all time. He was in that Golden Era of SG's along with Mamba, T Mac, Wade, AI, Ray Ray, Manu, and Pierce (his primary position for multiple years was SG back then).

And to top it off, he's the greatest dunker of all time when u consider all facets. And his all around game is very underrated. We all know he was a great scorer. But he averaged 6 boards and 5 dimes in various seasons along with the great scoring. U CAN'T have an HOF without Vinsanity! This type of question NEEDS to be for guys who are more borderline type cases!

I agree! The Mt. Rushmore of dunking is Doc, Nique, MJ, and Vince. I say those four because they blended these elements the best:

- In game dunking

- Contest dunking

- Dominant scoring ability where they could FORCE THEIR athletic ability on opponents.

- Overall redefined dunking in their respective eras

U had Kobe who had a mean mix of these attribues as well. BUT the other four redefined dunking more in their respective eras!

Yeah, kind of the Dominique Wilkins of the current generation.

Of course. The second half of his career was a really good role player, played great d and hit open 3's. The first half of his career is what gets him in the hof.

There are just 22 players with 25k or more career points in the NBA and every single one is either in the HOF or will be once they are eligible. This isn't even a question. Vince is in.
