Budget $1500.

Any ideas? I'm considering the Sony 900F.

Size - 55" lowest, 65" highest

The Sony 9-series is amazing, you won't regret it. Have the 940E and prefer it to the F & G series personally, but can't go wrong with it.

The dual processor on it makes it wort it for movies and shows with dark scenes.

You can get a 65" OLED 4k from LG for about 1500. Worth every penny.

Been a huge fan of Bravia. I have one upstairs and it's decent. My barbershop had a 1080p Bravia and it was gorgeous.

I'm comparing the 900F to the LG B8 right now

I don't want to go all out tbh but I wouldn't mind being generous on $1500 granted I have a best buy credit card that'll be monthly payments interest free

What content are you viewing that takes advantage of that TV's capabilities?

Most of the sports and shows on HBO/Netflix aren't in 4k, let alone HDR

netflix has a lot of shows available in 4k.

i see your point tho, it is overkill. still, when i had an xbox, i used it for it's 4k bluray player. watching planet animal in 4k hdr was surreal. wish they had a space one lol.

x900f is a great well rounded buy at that price point

Also look into, Vizio P Quantum and Samsung Q70.

Depends on how you're going to use the TV in terms of movies, TV, video games, etc.

Because Sony and Samsung provide a ton more quality than LG does.

It's no surprise that Sony A1E from 2017 shats on the 2019 LG OLEDs.

Only OLEDs worth getting are the Sony ones. You have the pixel by pixel screen with an actual processor.

Looking at videos alone it seems like the Sony 900F is a budget TV.

The LG c8 is what I'm looking at opting in on. I'm just afraid of burn in. I watch a lot of news and sports.

The c8 looks marvelous though. I might even consider a c7 for larger screen. The differences between them are minimal just interface advancements and maybe some settings that prevent burn in.

It’s the best 2018 model that is a 10 bit panel for what he’s looking to spend. Other than the higher input lag and blacks never being as deep as a plasma, he can’t go wrong with this set if he wants 65”.

The C8 has the a9 processor, but I don’t think you can get a c8 65” for $1500. Maybe the 55”

OLED TVs still aren't worth it, in my opinion. Price, burn-in problems, dead pixels, etc.

Turns out that was stupid and it immediately stopped working.

Need a new one.

LG and Samsung use the same panels. Sony is good also..

Can't go wrong with any of those. I have an LG 4K uhd, the picture is great, perfect for watching sports and mud play on

The A1E shits on any LG OLED man.

When did Sony start making OLED? As far as I heard it's only LG. Even if Sony does make them LG has been number 1 with OLEDs.

Sony buys the OLED display from LG and puts their vastly superior processor and technology behind it.

Similar to Apple buying Samsung displays, minus the superior tech part.

You couldn't tell which is which in a blind test. They're virtually identical, outside the OS.

yeah the Samsung TV I have is clutch, if you're sub'd to different platforms like Netflix, Hulu, Prime, NBATV, etc it's interface is dope and easy to use

all one remote, can even flip through PS4 with it

connect it to your home wifi network, cell airplay, etc. All smooth

We moved an LG 50 OLED from the TV room to our bedroom and the picture quality is right there with the new Samsung 55 inch 4K TV me and my wife just got, in fact, call me crazy but I tend to favor the LG's picture quality over our new TV but both look great so I just might be nitpicking. Only issue the LG ever had was that some chip inside malfunctioned and we can't get internet straight through the TV but instead of paying to have that fixed, I took my PS3 out of the closet and we now run Netflix, YouTube, internet through it, plus I get to now play my fave Battlefield game again, BF3.

Got my PS4 on the Samsung 55 4K and my PS3 through the LG 50 OLED, was thinking of upgrading the LG audio with another Bose speaker but nah, I actually like the audio quality the LG puts out.

Lol, I really couldn't tell you TBH, I'm not really into technological shit :lol It's a speaker for a TV, like a mini sound system, sounded nice at the store but when I set it up, little thing has such a full sound, fills the whole room and it was practically free, when we bought the Samsung 55 inch TV, they gave us a rebate card worth more than half of what the speaker cost so we got it on a whim, watched Endgame with the kids tonight and the sound was amazing.

Guessing you got the Bose Solo 5?

I got a Sonos system set up with my X940E and I absolutely love it. Two Plays in the back for fully wireless surround. Voice control on the 940e. Amazing contrast on movies, doesn't sacrifice quality to get all the colors in.

Pissed I didn't get the A1E when I saw the open box though, still kicking myself on that.

Yeah that's how most those nice Bose systems are. A ThicC sub with a few cordless tweeters

Probably, would have to find the instructions manual to confirm, all I did was set it up by leafing through the manual, really didn't see what Bose system I got, like I said, I'm really not that much into technology, lol, my wife actually wanted the new TV and she first suggested we get an upgrade on the audio. I know that's supposed to be guy stuff but I really don't care about buying bigger TV's, I'd much rather spend that on my guitar gear and amps :lol

Whatever it is, the little shit has a really thick sound, shocked my how good it sounded from such a little speaker.

Edit; I didn't mean that the speaker itself was 20", lol, that's a big ass speaker, I meant the length of the whole speaker, like the one in the link, pretty sure it's that exact model since the price is the same, lol

Used to work for Best Buy's Mag department and the Solo 5 was a popular sale. Wasn't as expensive as the Soundtouch or the Sonos, and, though the quality was not as good, it matched up decent enough for most folks.

One of my buds that still works there says the Solo sales plummeted when the Sonos Beam came out. Both are beasts for their price and size though.

And most folks don't need a Dolby.

You don’t even need a pair of 20’s.

An old ass JL 12w7 with 650w of clean power will put out 135-140 db depending on the box and the car that it’s in. Problem is that shit is played out now and no one has subs in their cars anymore.

A single Klipsch 12” sub is more than enough for most home systems.

I went with a $400 TCL Roku 55" 4K HDR model from 2017. I'm 100% happy with it. It's not the brightest, or has the the highest refresh rate, but it suits my wants. I can't personally justify spending even over $1000 on a TV. I went with a simple 5.1 soundbar setup.

The new Sony TV that came out that has the sound come through the screen/glass looked really cool though. Linus Tech Tips tied it out and it sounds better than most soundbars.

Another note about buying TVs...when it comes to Sony/Samsung/LG, there is no point in getting a 6 or 7 model. Save the money and get a TCL/Hisense

Those are absolutely amazing. Just....nothing else to describe it.

I got a TCL and Hisense as well, those give you great bang for your buck but when I saw the open box 940e + the extra discounts I got, couldn't turn it down. Set me back an extra $200 than a 6-series or TCL would've.

The new Sony sound tech looks really promising. I never needed a hi-def sound system. Just a system decent sounding soundbar setup did me well. But if you can encompass a great sound into just the TV that cuts out more wires and electronics sitting around. I'm more for simplicity if I can get it.

And those Roku TV brands are definitely a great bang for you buck as long as you don't seemingly have to deal with customer service about a defective TV. My favorite part is the Roku OS built in. It's super-snappy and doesn't' feel sluggish like many TV operating systems. I almost want to upgrade to a 65" because the TCL brand sometimes comes down to the same price my 55" was two years ago almost.

I like that Android is finding it's way onto many TVs now.
