Curious what Ish thinks in regards to these accolades. Generally the best of the best make both teams, but there are a ton of instances where a player makes one team but not the other. Do you feel one is more important than the other or are they equal in value?

all-nba definitely. More exclusive and all star selections only measure half of year. Only problem for all-nba for a few years was guys like dj were making 3rd team but center is good now. I'll look at both to have a brief idea of how good the top end of a supporting cast is but obviously not perfect

Anyone who says All-Star is retarded. All-Star is one of the most overrated accolades. Kobe, Dirk & Wade all made the All-Star team their last season, and people try to use these selections to establish which player was better :lol

Being to the all star game is really cool, but being in the all nba team is much more valuable.

All star, you only have to play well half of the season, and you can get on due to injurie(s) or fan votes.

All along the lines of what i thought about it. My whole thing about being an allstar is fans vote so it's always been sort of a popularity contest. But usually the right guys make it.

Any thoughts on all defensive selections, i consider them all league but just as their own thing what do you guys think about them?

Apparently some do, i see allstar teammates brought up quite often here, much more so than all league teammates, I'm sure you do too.

way too focused on name value. There's often some no name defensive specialist who's great but gets glossed over by some 2 way star. Like ik george, giannis, kawhi, and dray are great but it feels a little ridiculous that pj tucker didnt make it. same for beverly who got glossed over by better overall players in bledsoe, jrue, and klay

Yeah at times it feels more like best defensive players that happen to be prominent players on their teams.
