I'm on vacation in our holiday home and found a bunch of basketball cards from the 90s.

Stackhouse, Mighty Mouse rookie card included

What's the deal with these, are they worth anything?

I still have alot of fleets and hoops cards from the 80's/90's. I haven't looked into their value recently to know if they're worth the cardboard they're printed on.

I think the internet pretty much tanked that market. A whole industry was built around showing off these cards and the internet and Ebay killed it.

I do think some cards can be worth something. Rookie cards or weird cards. I have a Moses Malone card from Spurs, that's something I'd think was funny to have in a collection.

I know the Fleets cards from the 80s are quite popular.

I dunno, I will just keep them. Fun to look at in 30 years.

Why would mail man, milk man, and insurance agent's basketball cards be worth anything?

That's probably what I will end up doing. They're nostalgia pieces most of which aren't worth enough to go through the effort of doing a value assessment.

Anything from 1990 onwards is worth at most a couple bucks unless they're those rare fancy edition cards or limited rookie cards.

Only 80s cards have any value... And mostly the rookie cards seeing all the greatest players are from that Era.

The interesting part are these guys who ended up being someone, but weren't really big time back then.

Guys like:

Steve Smith
Vlade Divac
Doc Rivers
Robert Horry

And of course going through a bag of cards and all the "nobodies", which is what 90% of the NBA now is going to be in 20 years.

Even in the 90's the cards from that decade where not worth very much. I have alot of 90's cards aswell but ther ones that where worth alot was the 80's cards (ofcourse the GOAT decade). I have been searching for the prizes of these cards in the web page of Beckett but they don't appear. Anyone know where i can find the prizes? I also have the whole 1989-90 set for for David Robinson's rookie card (i think its topps the brand of the cards) and i also have Scottie Pippen's error rookie card from 87-88 (it says Scottie Pippin instead of Pippen). Anyone got info o those cards?

That shit has to be PSA 10 for collectors to even care. Weak era for card collecting.

A PSA 10 Kobe rookie can only fetch you $200 meh.

Nope. No series of cards were ever more over-produced than 90's basketball cards. I have thousands I wish I could get rid of. A card dealer told me so many were produced, there are probably hundreds of thousands of packs unopened out there somewhere.

It was definitely a fad in the mid 90s.

Too many good fakes, plus the internet it's almost like they depreciated in value now

Shit was so wild setting in early gambling addiction, my elementary school during the early 90's banned them along with pogs

I got like 10 full decks of Fleer/Upperdeck collecting dust in the attic, plus the premium cards protected by cases n w/e

My first OG investment flopped

Man I've been collecting cards since the late 80's. I remember when a 1986-87 Fleer pack was a buck. LOL. Now that sh*t is worth like $50K for a box.

But I still collect cards. Mostly invest in MJ. He never let's me down. :D

Picked up like 7 of his 1986 Fleer rookies graded PSA 7 for about $1,100 a piece a few years back. They go for about $2,000 now.

Also picked up like 5 of his 1986 Fleer Sticker rookies graded PSA 9 for about $1,000 a piece a few years back. They go for about $1,800 now.

The GOAT has no limits.

Do you happen to know how much a 1987-88 Pippen Error Rookie card is worth? Or a 1989-90 David Robinson rookie card is worth?

The 80s was also the golden age for basketball cards. I remember that David Robinson's rookie card was worth 50 bucks in the early 90's (never knew how much worth was Pippen's error rookie card though).
