it's impressive in the sense that as the 3 point shot became easier in the league (still no known steroids report per NBA) those 1.7 steals shows he recognizes offensive rotations after rebounds at the Conf Finals and Finals level

I'm not sure you're making a big case for him here. In the last 6 years, he has made the playoffs 5 times, winning only 1 title, while missing the playoffs altogether the other year.
He has 0 MVPs in that period and hasn't led the league in PER in any of those seasons.
