Iggy.

They were similarly valuable overall though. Marion was a better shooter and probably more technically sound defensively but iggy was a slightly better iso player and his athleticism could energize a team more. Which probably only played significantly during home games but still.

Iggy. Took Boston's big 4 to game 7 with just a virgin Jrue Holiday.

Definitely. The biggest impediment to the Sixers' playoff success that year was the fact Holiday hadn't had sex yet. Iggy was the savior.

Crazy how Marion was the best player Nash played with in Phx. He probably won’t even make the hall of fame.
Stat > Marion

you have marion over amare?
Depends on what you think the definition of best player is. Amare during that time had a higher peak than Marion, but Marion will go down as a all-time better player just because of his accomplishments and actually winning a ring as an important piece.

Amare was like a top 5-10 player in the league. Marion was never close to that.

No doubt I 100% agree, but I still feel Marion is higher on the all-time list because of his ability to be a two-way player. Amar'e was no doubt the better offensive player, but Marion brought more versatility to the court for a longer period of time and ultimately he actually won a championship being a great starting role player on a team. While after Carmelo was traded to the Knicks when Amar'e was having a MVP caliber season, he fell off the cliff with knee injuries. While Amar'e was the better offensive player, Marion was the better defender, capable of defending multiple positions, better rebounder overall, average only 0.1 less blocks per game over the course of his career than Amar'e and averaged more steals and assists over his career than Amar'e.

But even then, I'd pick Iggy over both of them.
