View Full Version : Does prior drug use disqualify me from the military?

I recently became interested in trying to get into Air Force OTS.

But then I read that ANY illegal drug use other than weed... or even weed more than 25 times... even if it was many years ago... is enough that you are permanently disqualified.

:biggums:

Is this true? Are any ISH users current or former US military that can confirm or debunk this?

I think they will recruit you anyways. I know the police force will polygraph you and re ask you everything you told them originally. I

You’re disqualified for no reason other than the amount of semen in your rectum and mouth.

As long as you weren't caught doing it it shouldn't matter right? They can't prove you used to do drugs many years ago can they?

I wouldn't want to risk lying to the US military about something that they could probably find out. Not trying to get a dishonorable discharge on my record.

It will, but exceptions are almost always made and they give out waivers for stuff like that basically for free. However, they're not going to do an investigation or anything, so the recruiter will just tell you to lie about it to skip a step, as long as it isn't on your record. Everyone does it, and the recruiter's pay scales with your potential as an officer.

The recruiter will tell you to lie about broken bones, asthma, basically all of your medical history. Understand the risks and understand that the recruiter doesnt care about you, they get paid for bringing people in. They wont care if you get booted off and slaited on your record for life because you had an asthma attack at boot camp, they already got their paycheck and hold no responsibility because you signed the dotted line.

You seem like you know what you're talking about. And it makes sense.

How do you know though? Are you in the military?

i used to work with a lot of ex-military guys. they would refer to the air force as the "chair force".

No, I strongly considered it a while ago though. Make sure you have all your bases covered before making a decision:cheers:

Prior convictions can disqualify you.

You just gotta be clean. Keep in mind the air force is the most difficult branch of military to get in from what i've been told.

Soldiers!
Don't give yourselves to brutes - men who despise you, enslave you, who regiment your lives... tell you what to do, what to think and what to feel!
Who drill you, diet you, treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fodder!
Don't give yourselves to these unnatural men!
Machine men, with machine minds and machine hearts!
You are not machines!
You are not cattle!
You are men!

lol...you're an idiot. Why would they be going out of there way to find out if you did some drugs in your life? Jesus christ are you naive and stupid. I'd say the Marines is your best bet with your level of intelligence.

There are countless reasons why an investigation into my past would be possible. It's unlikely, but not worth the risk.

And how would they find out if you did drugs? Aside from your level of paranoia.

I dont get this. If there's countless reasons to investigate you then why are you worried about the repercussions of drugs? At the physical examination you can have needle scars up and down your arms, they might ask you again and make you double down, but nothing after that. As long as there's no ink and no record, if you say you never touched a joint then you never touched a joint.
