Do you approve of such tactics? What are the lingering emotional impacts on the individuals?

Threats of violence are brutal, yet immediately translatable between species, and immediately effective.

i don't like it, him being chinese raises concerns that the dog may be turned into dinner.
it's not as bad as doing it to a baby kid bc of the different levels of intelligence. dogs may be sweet but they are animals at the end of the day. i don't think you can even compare the complexity of human development and emotions to that of a dog.
dog might forget it, maybe he remembers it, but it won't be a big issue. kid thinking he's going to get his face smashed in can develop some serious issues down the line.

And I'm not joking.
I literally just ate dinner.
I told my son if he doesn't eat his mashed potatoes, he's going to be a bitch boy with a skirt.
He ate them and punched his sister

I guess I finally realized women are trash.
Men are better.
I was raised by my mom and had three sisters.
A father whooping my ass figuratively and literally would've made me a better person.
I only remember getting one spanking as a child. (Funny story)

first one was really bad. based on 1 gif, that dad seems like an a-hole. if he does that regularly, i'd say that dad is abusive. that's not enough for the state to take the kid away or anything, but that's a slightly abusive parent right there. you're really messing with a young child's psyche when you do that
1-10 rating on 'how abusive' is odd

Do you still think "women are trash. Men are better." when you look into your daughter's eyes? Would you tell her that boys are better than her?

Well, it's not as bad as actually abusing them... but I guess it's still not a good way to raise a child/pet... scaring them into listening to you. But guess what, that's how the old gen grew up. If I screwed up I got hit, it was never a punch to the face or anything like that. I had an awkward conversation with my pops a few years back, he cried and told me he hit us (me and older bro, we kinda protected my younger bro from most of anything) because he was hit when he was a kid... that his pops would come home drunk sometimes and beat the shit outa him for no reason. I know I won't hit my kids, hopefully my wife will be the disciplinarian :lol

Yes.
My son is more loving and caring.
My daughter can be rude and cold.
My son is also funnier.
But I won't tell her that boys are better than her.
I'll just hope she can be an outlier.

Chances are good that you treat them differently because of your own biases. That is disgusting.
Children can spot signs of favoritism very easily - even when it's subtle. Your daughter is bitter because she knows you will love her brother more no matter what. So she acts accordingly.
I had a loving mother and a scummy father - but I don't project those two individuals onto their entire genders... I have never for one second believed that women are better than men simply because of my own life. You should try being more like me.
I have a great deal of sympathy for you, because you suffered unthinkable abuses as a child. But you really shouldn't let your mother's faults live on through your own prejudice.
I'm just kidding about all of this, by the way.
Or am I?

I go out of my way to make sure she feels loved.
It's natural the younger child will receive more attention because they need it, though.
Definitely a lot of jealousy.

It's physcotic but I wouldn't call it abusive. 20 years ago this would have been funny to watch. It's the soft ass society that we live in would find this offensive and abusive

Yeah it's definitely not abusive...abusive towards the stuffed animals sure.
Not an ideal way of parenting at all as we have come to learn in this beautiful time of the year 2019 but that's not abusive lol.

He's not wrong, at least for American women.
Only in eastern asia are women morally equal to men.

I don't know nor have seen this method before---but I'd imagine it being incredibly frustrating to come home after a full day of work---or without adequate sleep and not see your child do something as basic as finishing their food.
Actions have consequences.
