No idea how the rest of the world deals with this. Maybe offer the country a stipend to keep the rainforests? But many countries would refuse to participate. Probably including our own.

The Amazon rainforest produces 20% of the world's oxygen. This is an exceedingly difficult problem to deal with. Brazil has sovereign control over the forest, but their actions will adversely affect the rest of the world. Some sort of economic intervention by the rest of the world seems like the best solution, but the current administration in Brazil may be intransigent and may see the issue as a means of extorting other countries that have a real concern about the clearings and the environmental and ecological ramifications.
