I first started getting into rap around 2009-10 and that was right when Wayne dropped that awful rock album Rebirth, and because of that I hated him at the time. But then I went back and listened to his earlier stuff and I saw the appeal, Carter 1-3 are solid albums and his earlier mixtapes like Da Drought 3 and No Ceilings slap as well. He kinda fell off after that though but I really did enjoy Carter 5

Peaked at No Ceilings, was never the same after his jail stint

Didn't adapt well to the new generation

got caught up with rock/skating culture, all downhill from there

Genuinely hasn't released a good track in 10 years other than Blunt Blowin and those Eminem features

The Carter I and the The Carter II are some of the best rap albums of the past 20 years.

Before he became a gimmick

Carter 2 is GOAT level

i've listened to both in their entirety many times and still think (albeit drake is kinda gay) she will (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7nYuyfkjCk) is one of the better songs he made.

yea but many people hate on wayne as being commercial garbage... like some young thug or da baby shit

wayne actually had some incredible talent. he's like jordan compared to all the shit tier rappers of today and that aint nostalgia...

kendrick or cole are the only ones that even hold a candle but theyre low key compared to whats constantly played on the radio.

Are you f*cking gay?

Smoke may be a miserable sack of shit, but he has excellent and diverse taste in music. Credit where it's due. What "slow corny emo rock" are you referring to?

I don't think he's under rated.

People recognize all of the work he put in during the time period where it seemed like he was literally on every song being released. His talent is recognized as well.

From what I've seen he is really fairly rated.

He had an awesome peak and was on top of the rap game for a while but has now fallen off the face of the earth.

Overrated. Honesty Eddie Murphy as a musical artist is better
