12 rings is an exaggeration. But 6 or 7 wouldn't be unrealistic. The main point to take away is Shaq wouldn't have been traded and could have retired a Laker if he had Kobe's work ethic.
But Shaq had 3 good seasons in Miami and Kobe got Odom a key contributor in Kobe's other 2 rings so it all works out.

This is just BS. I lived through all that Shaq/Kobe drama. The fact is, Kobe was an alpha and no way he would've been content being 2nd fiddle his whole career. He got rid of Shaq because he wanted his own team. If Shaq was more dedicated, do they win maybe a couple more? Probably. But 12? LOL.
