I shoot for being told the answer is "easily" one or the other by people picking different sides. Nash vs the Pistons is pretty easy to explain why you would do it either way to me.

I suspect Rip Hamilton becomes a bigtime 3 point shooter these days which helps make up for the gap between Billups and Nash.....but its hard to turn down Nash in a league catering to him even more. Hed either get 15 assists a game or score 23+.

Nash is better. But Nash was aoded by playing in systems that fatured guard play, first with Nelson and then with D'Antoni who has Harden putting up MJ-level stats. I do believe Billups' numbers would be bigger than they were if he was D'Antoni's point guard and Nash had some extremely talented teams in Dallas that would have been just as good with Pistons Billups. It's not as important as what either guy did on the offensive end but it's also worth noting that Billups was a much better defender. When I consider these things vs. Hamilton's edge over an average starter and how well Billups and Hamilton worked together it's an easy call.
