Then why don't these great players just spam 3s in FIBA and dominate?

Cause the 3s aint the issue!

The problem is mandatory spacing regulated by:

1. Allowing travel, carry, double dribbles
2. Disallowing hand check
3. Defensive 3 seconds
4. Moving screens

The last 2 in particular makes the NBA unwatchable most of the time. Moving screen to open lane, to (by design) late rotation to pass to open man in corner. ZZzzzZZZ

Kobe took so few that it's neglible and LeBron and Wade have always been off and on ft shooters so it's no surprise that in a small example they could have just been shooting them bad. International sports are often at much lower level than leagues despite better players. This is due to lack of time. Any version of team USA would get destroyed by, for example, current San Antonio Spurs. Add to that they have to acclimate to FIBA rules, further lowering their level.
