'I think we'll make it' is not a guarantee. And I believe it's a good thing for him that he didn't actually guarantee they'll make it. Too early in his career to be writing checks he can't cash...would kill his credibility for further guarantees down the line. Gotta save your guarantees for when they really matter, like Tim Duncan. What is he supposed to say? Of course every team's goal is to make the Playoffs and eventually win a championship, they have a good enough squad to at least be an 8th seed, barring any significant injury. They might be a sleeper coming into the season because a lot of fans will overlook their roster, we haven't seen Porzingis for like 2 years but if he's at least as good as he was his 3rd year they'll be a force. That roster has some nice depth and shooting to it.

And he didn't "guarantee" they would make the Playoffs in that quote directly but he did set the expectation on his team and that's what a good leader does tbh.
