In his world and in the many that think like him, the answer to your question would be that the police should only return fire after they’ve been shot at first.

And even then, fools like him would still blame the cops for escalating the situation.

That situation was less about the first cop not shooting sooner than it was about her just not being trained well or competent enough to subdue suspects. She also didn’t have backup (Which if I were a cop, I definitely wouldn’t want to be her partner or back her up now. She’s clearly a very weak link). If she can’t subdue a man without needing to shoot them, she’s only a liability to either put her life in danger or shoot someone unjustifiably. I could understand if it was a much bigger person, but that’s not the case here

The cops arriving are certainly justified if he shot at them though which isn’t completely clear. Last I saw were his hands up before being blocked by a tree. I suppose more details will emerge
