Indeed, Russell was the king of 2-pointer basketball - a defensively-oriented game where the lack of spacing didn't allow good team offense, thus allowing a 1-way player like Russell to dominate and win the most

But once the 3-point line provided a natural spacing as players stood further from the basket - good team offense became possible, so a great 2-way player and offensive juggernaut dominated and won the most (MJ)

Btw, we know MJ is goat because he showed us how the impossible (8 straight) was indeed possible in the modern era - most people think MJ would have 8 straight if he hadn't played baseball.. :confusedshrug:..

Ultimately, MJ won the most in the modern era/3-pointer basketball - 6 rings, 6 FMVP's - the modern goat standard

Yeah because 90s had tons of spacing.

The 90's had crazy spacing compared to the 60's

And today's game has crazy spacing compared to the 90's

There's levels to this

The 60's paints were more packed than the 90's

and today's paints aren't packed at all because defensive 3 seconds outlaws it and spacing/threes guarantee that defenders occupy the perimeter

So modern shooters punish the defense more than those of the 90s? I see.

You mean modern strategy

Because players can learn threes in a single off-season - AD says he's ready to shoot high 30's this season after just one summer focusing on it

So again, it's modern strategy - spacing strategy punishes defenses and makes offense easy compared to the no-spacing of prior eras..

And yet some people would say just winning 3 in a row and scurrying away to play in the MLB was a better run. Some people are WRONG. Dead wrong.

the sports world needed it. basketball wasn't the most popular sports then, an example now could be Rugby. The reflection of a less popular sport could generate such consistent results can be used as a projection for mainstream sports. Demonstrating how shaky America really is when it comes to competition with the rest of the world.

and it's correlation with the two party system indeed spell out : no country for old men

Why couldn't MJ learn threes in an entire career? :confusedshrug:

MJ already won rings while shooting threes at today's level

MJ won 92 & 93 Finals by shooting 41% on 4.3 attempts

He also shot 39% on 3.8 attempts in the 93' playoffs overall

By comparison, Kawhi won ECF with 34% threes on 5 attempts..

So when you ask "could MJ shoot threes at today's level?".. The answer is "he already did... he shot 41% on 4.3 attempts in the 92 and 93' playoffs, and 39% on 3.8 attempts in the 93' playoffs overall"
