I actually like this for both teams. CP3 and KAT tandem sounds pretty nice. Shai Alexander would step up in CP3s absence and Wiggins gets a fresh start on a young OKC squad.

This blows for Wiggins since he only could play well against the Thunder and nobody else.

I don't think you know how the salary cap works.

they got a long look at him before that. They panicked.

Their owner Glen Taylor was the one who insisted on signing him. He put out to the press something like (paraphrasing, but all true), 'I have a max waiting for Andrew Wiggins, but I want to sit down with him first, look him in the eye, and get his assurance that he will continue to work hard for this organization.'

So it would seem either Wiggins is a great salesman or Glen Taylor is a gullible idiot.

On a side note, I think someone is going to be very happy with Gallinari when they trade for him this year. I think he could swing the contender odds among the 7 or so west teams going at it.

you can't really trade nothing for something, and expect that something to stick around

Gallo is coming off of a career best season, I agree.

20ppg/6rpg on 46% shooting and 43% from three, 90% from the line....very very nice.

As for Wiggins, his contract looked 10x worse when he initially signed it (and the following season) than it does right now. The final year is $33m. I don't like Wiggins as a player at all, I think he is inefficient and a guy who does nothing else but score....however, it could be a lot worse. We got average role players banking 14-18m per year.

You've got guys like Chrisp Haul who will be banking $44m at the age of 36 lol, I'm sure it's possible to find a trade partner for Wiggins even if it turns out to just be a salary dump...maybe let 1 more year expire from the deal.

Having said all that, bottom line he's overpaid. Dude is NOT going to win you basketball games.
