Injuries factored into their picks. Klay is ranked 58th but here's their reasoning for ranking so low.

[I]What qualifies Thompson for this ranking in spite of that is the understanding that he

For all his flaws, the Lavine ranking (#90 I think) stood out as being criminally low.

Oh and what the hell is Wiggins doing at 100? Get outta here. The difference between him and Lavine is not 10 players, it's more like 150.

Its actually getting absurd. The kid had a below than average season. Looked like garbage most of last season and he's 35th???? That alone is a joke of a list.

Wow. To have Tatum 15 spots over Gallinari, who is a much better player, is ridiculous. I honestly feel like Tatum at #35 and Zach Lavine at #90 should switch places and the list would be much more fair. Is that too egregious? I feel like I'm going crazy sometimes when I see things like Tatum rated so highly. Like, I can't grasp what makes people think so highly of him and it truly worries me that I can't even come close to understanding this consensus. Even if you just completely wiped out his second season and let's say he's just had his impressive rookie playoff run...wtf? He's still not that good.

He's above players like Oladipo, Lou Will, Gallanari, Tobias Harris and 40 more guys he has no business being in the conversation with.

The dude has no depth to his game. It's spot-up, shitty isolation, and the occasional attacking the closeout or finding some space for an easy dunk. He doesn't playmake, he's not a driver unless it's obvious. And his iso game is barf-worthy. He just dances around and makes dribble moves that haven't given him an opening or an advantage and then launches a shot, usually contested as strongly as it would've been if he'd've launched upon the catch.

His game is the ultimate in book learning and completely devoid of common sense or street smarts.

I mean Ingram literally had a better 2nd season than 2nd season Tatum in every way and they have him 84th. Ingram had a great season before the blood clot. Ended the season with a run of a few weeks averaging 27/6 on 60% and yet Tatum who had an abysmal season is 35th lmao.

I dont get the criteria unless "looking like a good NBA" player was a huge criteria.

Ingram has 7 games with 27 points in his entire 3 season career. Where do you get him putting up a few weeks at 27ppg?

Was he playing one game a week? I’ve seen you reference that Way too many times. Explain what the hell youre talking about please. You calling 3-4 games a few weeks or what?

Think it was the last month before he got blood clots. He was averaging 26/7**

Despite his slow start last season (he attributed it to playing with new teammates and trying to fit in with LeBron) he averaged 18/5/3 on 50% for a 21 year old. 2nd season Ingram also had a better season than Tatum did this past season.

Looking at the game log you sure are lenient with the definition of a month or a few weeks.

It’s 6 games at 26 points the entire season.

I don’t think we need to call that an “average”.

Writers' obsession with Tatum is so odd to me. He's literally proven nothing except that he's theoretically valuable one day, but even now, do we really see him becoming an All-NBA player?

He has no footspeed or shiftiness, so for his game he'd have to be an elite shooter from midrange and three-point land. He's only decent at midrange and merely "good" from three-point line. He's just a decent athlete. He's far less athletic than Carmelo. He's even less athletic than Paul Pierce, who no one thought was an above average athlete. That lack of burst and strength will keep him where he is and people need to start accepting that.

Preachin to the choir, man.

What I also found weird about the list is how out of nowhere a few times the writer would spend the whole blurb just dumping on the player for his flaws. The majority was pretty even-keeled, but there were a few guys he had nothing positive to say about.

Lists like these are best compiled by averaging what 10 or 20 writer say, rather than just the views of one or maybe two people
