Bill Russell won the title 84% of the time

2-pointer basketball though.. so a different game than modern era basketball

There's no spacing in 2-pointer basketball, , so great team offense and good efficiencies didn't exist, allowing a 1-way defender to control games and win the most

But in modern era/3-pointer basketball, the spacing exists for team offense to win games - so the goat offensive player became goat and won the most rings, MVP's, FMVP's, and 2-way accolades in modern era/3-pointer basketball, while also having the most scoring titles and highest efficiency rating..

MJ won 40% of the time

^^^ Goat of the modern era/3-pointer basketball

Who has the most rings, MVP's, FMVP's, and 2-way accolades in modern era/3-pointer basketball?...

Someone actually has all that?.. :eek: ... must be the goat... :confusedshrug:... :bowdown: ... plus they have the most scoring titles and highest efficiency rating too

11/13 > 6/13

Who has the most rings, MVP's, FMVP's, and 2-way accolades in modern era/3-pointer basketball?

And the most scoring titles, with the highest PPG and efficiency rating ever?

It isn't just a rings argument - it's a "goat in every category" argument (goat winning, stats and accolades)

I rest my case

But Jordan's not GOAT in all those categories. Russell is the GOAT at winning, Wilt at stats, even accolades had FMVP & DPOY been around in his era, Russell would've been GOAT at that too

The fact that 2 guys from the 60's are your only rebuttal makes my case.... But nonetheless,

Who averaged more PPG in the regular season, Wilt or Jordan?.... Answer:. Jordan

Who averaged more PPG in the playoffs, Wilt or Jordan?..... Answer:. Jordan, by 11 ppg margin

Who had more scoring titles, Wilt or Jordan?.... Answer:. Jordan (3 more)

So Jordan was the superior scorer with superior scoring stats and accolades.. Wilt only has a couple seasons of higher ppg than MJ and more 50 pt games against guys that were smaller than the SG's MJ faced in the 80's and 90's.. that's not enough to offset MJ's big lead in career PPG and scoring titles.

So MJ has the best stats - career leader in PPG and efficiency rating (PER).....

Regarding winning and accolades - you can ignore the 2-pointer basketball aspect if you want, but it makes you dumber about the game and it's a fact that isn't going anywhere, ever - MJ has the most rings, MVP's, FMVP's, and 2-way accolades in modern era/3-pointer basketball, where a 1-way player like Russell is usually a good role player and has barely any rings as the best player (Ben Wallace has 1 ring)

The true GOAT. :bowdown:
Even if you give Russell and his 8 HOF teammates the nod for goat winning, and even if you give Russell imaginary accolades that he didn't actually get, he still has no stats and is a 1-way player

Whereas MJ has the goat stats and actually received a goat amount of NBA accolades/awards like MVP's, etc (you don't have to imagine them like you do with Russell)... and he won in the modern era with 1 HOF teammate, not 8...

^^^ That's why it sounds weird when you say a Ben Wallace-like player is goat - it sounds weird because that player doesn't have goat stats (1-way player), didn't receive the goat accolades, and didn't win in the modern era where good offense existed

They were HOFers, because of Russell. Hondo is the only guy who won without him.

Russell came into the league playing with the league mvp winner and ROY. He also never had to win 4 series in a year. For 8 titles he only had to win 2 series. From 1984 and onward you had to win 4 series a year for a title. Russell won 25 series for 11 titles, MJ 24 series for 6 titles, so basically the same considering all things.

If we're going to discredit Russell for only winning two series in a playoff for a title we also have to give kudos to being consistently dominant enough in the regular season to avoid playing in that first round as the top teams had a bye to the semis, right?

Bill Russell shouldn't need to be defended. I often find myself doing just that here.

That dynasty faced elimination 10 times. They won all 10...... Bill Russell was the only constant in these wins.... They lose before he got there..... Lose after he retired......

Poke holes in someone else.

And Bran is 33% just in the finals let alone his career.

For his career Brons at about 18%

So perspective

Russell = 84%
Jordan = 40%
Bron = 18%

He would have another 20+ series wins if there were four rounds...

lol. This kind of response might work if you hadn't made 6,000 post sucking the teat of Jordan. Don't bother responding as I don't want to continue this conversation anyway as you basically have no kind of interesting personality. You're basically that fish that eats all the scum on a fish tank in regards to Jordan Stans.
