US losing is a good thing for North American basketball. US international management will force elite level participants. Then Canada will follow suit and we can finally field a good team

durant, leading scorer in 2016 and 2012 olympics, probably won't play (injury)

klay, leading scorer in 2 of the 3 single digit wins in 2016, one of which was the semi finals against spain, probably won't play (injury)

lebron probably won't play (age)

chris paul probably won't play (age)

carmelo, second leading scorer in 2016 and 2012 olympics, might not even be in the nba

harden and westbrook will probably sit out for no great reason like in 2016

anthony davis (surgery in 2016) and kawhi (never been on an olympic team) are key possibilities, but i'd say there's a 50/50 chance they sit out for no great reason

jimmy butler and paul george are good players that played in 2016 but i don't trust them to lead a team to gold if they even play

i think they need curry (resting from injury in 2016 and never been on an olympic team) to win gold, especially if a lot of my other predictions are right

They'll be fine

Let's be real.

If USA fielded a full strength team and took the comp seriously, they'd win every game by a huge margin.

The next best team in the world has at most 3 or 4 NBA starting calibre players and maybe one all star. USA can go 12 deep with all stars and would have 3-4 of the 5 best players in the world.

If every team in the world fielded their best possible team, I honestly think Australia has the 2nd best roster, with Ben Simmons, Patty Mills, Joe Ingles, Jonah Bolden and Aron Baynes as starting 5.

I want to see that weak b1tch Harden play some proper basketball without phantom 'superstar' calls and some actual proper D.

Also the physicality of proper ball would be hilarious with this little b1tch hahahhah

Most of the bigger NBA stars are such princesses it would be quality viewing.
