I mean he's just as good as his brother (Pau Gasol) and had far more success with the Grizzlies at the helm.. also won an NBA championship also in a less illustrious franchise in the Raptors. I think he's a lock all things considered.

Note: Dude carried Spain with 33 points last night over Australia leading them to the World Cup finals. Dude's a beast.

With this gold medal, 1st ballot. He has walked the walk in the NBA individually and as a team, and internationally. Absolutely he deserves it.

Spanish league MVP and Spanish league champion.

NBA DPOY, 3x all star, NBA Champion

3 gold medals with Spain, 1 more coming.

If he wins the gold, he will go down with Sabonis and others as one of the best international centers ever.

An NBA ring and a World Cup gold in one year, that's a very unique accomplishment.

Marc was always a bigger talent than Pau, though Pau was a far better offensive talent, Pau was also a much worse defensive player.

Shouldn't be a surprise though, Marc has essentially been the closest thing to Tim Duncan the last 5 years. Just no one notices.

Which is also very impressive that he is a center that is equally effective in FIBA as in the NBA. Pau was underrated in this aspect as well. He did win 2 rings, now didn't he.

I feel like both Gasols have suffered so much from prejudice and that they should have won more if their teammates, coaches and gm's would just have bought in and made them centerpieces of their teams. Kobe didn't have a problem with Gasol did he. Jimmy Butler on the other hand, didn't even want to pass All Star, block leader Gasol the ball.

I love Vlade but his HOF induction is kind of a head scratcher. Hardly the best international player of his time and was an average NBA player. It took years and another generation of international players to convert the NBA big man into a position less player.

Vlade was hardly average. He did a lot of things well and became one of the best passing bigs around. I don't see him a HOFer though

Did Vlade make into the Hall as a player or a contributor?

Not as good as his brother, but close (when including defense). Probably will be a HoFer for his international play moreso than his NBA tenure. However, his longevity won't be as good as Pau's.

Of course. His resume's good enough, and the hof has a hard on for international players. Freaking Dino Radja got in.
