LOL. You do realize the entire Porter family name is injured in the DNA???

- Jontay Porter suffered a season-ending knee injury after tearing both his ACL and MCL during a scrimmage against Southern Illinois. He tore his ACL previously too

- Ciara Porter, announced her retirement because of recurring knee injuries.

- Michael's eldest sister, Bri Porter, suffered a total of 5 ACL tears in her high school and collegiate career (It all started in 2016, when 6-3 Bri Porter suffered the fifth ACL injury of her career, forcing her to quit playing basketball for the Tigers.)

Leave to the Dumbass retarded Nuggets to waste their pick on this guy

If jokic willingly hands over the reigns and recognizes that he's not a #1.The Nuggets could make a deep run in the playoffs this year:applause:

Aren't they vegan or something. I struggle to find any coincidence here with their injuries.

The whole family was raised vegetarian. He switched to vegan in high school as a freshman after feeling back pain. Plus he says meat to him is nasty. I don't think the whole going vegan thing has paid off for him yet. :(

I think there are good health benefits of switching to a vegetarian or no red meat diet as an adult but I don't think it's a great idea for a growing body. Our bodies are designed to consume meat. I might switch to a vegetarian diet one day when I get older but if I have kids I would never make them do it unless they decided on their own to forego eating meat.

Laughable to shit on the Nuggets drafting given we've had zero top 5 picks yet drafted players like Jokic, Murray, Nurkic, Harris, Beasley. One of the best drafting teams in the league.

Porter Jr is absolutely a lotto ticket tho. I loved the pick but teams like the Nuggets given where they were needed to swing for the fences. Gigantic questions with his health like you pointed out. He's missed alot of time. Obviously a ton of potential but I wouldn't expect much this year. I think easing him in and just seeing if he can stay healthy will be the priority. I'd be pumped if he can be a good bench player who knocked down some 3's. Alot of upside but entirely possible he never stays healthy and is out of the league in a couple years.

25/13/8/1/1 in the playoffs. 1st team All-NBA.

Had to absolutely sting watching Jokic tear the playoffs up while Embiid was struggling :oldlol:

I don't think the Nuggets can take credit for that tho. I would imagine Utah told us who to take with the 2nd rounder. If the Nuggets did have Gobert tho, than yeah damn Jokic/Nurkic/Gobert is insane scouting. Also insanely lucky we kept the best player. All 3 couldn't have played together, would have been a total Nuggets move to trade Jokic and wind up with an injured Nurkic left out of the 3 of them :lol

I don't think we would have drafted Mitchell for us as well. We wanted to move back, which obviously was a bad move looking back. I'd say the biggest knock against our FO is for sure trading. Even the Plumlee/Nurkic deal looks bad now assuming Nurkic bounces back from the injury.

Gobert was a late first. The Nuggets were selling their pick because they had a good team and luxury tax concerns and didn't want to pay a first. Gobert and Jokic could play together. Wouldn't be ideal defensively but it could work. Rudy can guard the perimeter but that's not where you want him.

Had to trade Nurkic. Best deal they could get I guess

I've heard enough weird unexplained mysterious medical conditions afflicting vegetarians to suspect vegetarianism as a cause.

Oh yeah it was the late 1st, same principal tho. Teams tell the other ones who they want picked, atleast that's what's reported. If not than the Nuggets scouting with Gobert/Mitchell is even crazier.

Yeah I don't think they'd fit well at all. Both C's. I watched Nurkic/Jokic struggle, and even Jokic/Plumlee struggles at times still. They could get like 15 minutes together but would be an absolute waste playing Gobert in Plumlee's role. Just like it was with Nurk.

Don't think it would be a waste necessarily. Gobert is a lot better player than Plumlee and Nurkic but certainly not ideal

Right?

We are made of meat, and genetically designed to eat it. There has to be something in meat you can't get from veggies.

Holy crap the retards in here spreading misinformation about vegetarianism being the cause of these injuries is insane.

If you think being vegetarian is less healthy than the standard western diet, then you are just lying to yourself or just extremely ignorant.

You can get protein from other sources besides meat.

As an adult it may be an excellent choice. As a growing athlete, at least stay vegetarian and get those nutrient benefits like B12 that dairy and eggs provide. MPJ and his brother went vegan early on in HS, not sure about the sis, and things just got worse for them. Has any elite athlete been raised vegan from childhood? I honestly don't know but I'm guessing not a lot. If it's great for a growing body you would think there would be hundreds of examples. I know Bill Walton is a vegetarian but was aware of it's limitations so he didn't raise his kids that way.

Being better than the standard western diet is a rather low bar to clear. It's also one reason you're not going to hear much from the medical community about it. After pushing vegetables on everyone incessantly do you think they're going to suddenly backtrack? They're still in denial as it is about their earlier recommendation for carbohydrates and how it has harmed people.

I doubt he'll ever be able to stay healthy enough to be more than a role player off the bench.
