Being a child is only better if you have the mindset of a child

8-11 years old....Big and physically capable enough to do most things and enjoy life without the whole anxiety and distraction of sex. The rest of your life, before and after, is problematic.

Having the responsibility levels of a child but the freedom of an adult would be my dreams

If you are worthy of being called an adult and understand what it entails you would obviously prefer it to being a dependant child.
To prefer being a child speaks about your state of mind and reluctance to embrace the world and to embrace life.
My sense of nostalgia is stronger than most I know, so what do I do? I use my resources and freedom to revisit places, play older video games, reread books or watch movies, and eat what I desire. Once I get my dose, I enjoy the incredibly vast other options life grants you as a fully functional independent self sufficient male in his prime.

Freedom is priceless to me too and that includes the freedom to do the things that I didn't have the funds for when I was a kid or a teenager. That's literally my entire philosophy for collecting shit and the reason I buy everything batman, including some of the mediocre animations warner bros puts out at times - this shit satisfies the inner kid in me.
I don't know if this is accurate but I've heard the demographic that plays and buys the most videogames is 30-40 year olds and that would make sense to me because kids don't have the money to buy all the 4k tvs and playstation pros and xbox one x - but I do. :D

Yup, I collect vinyls, Tolkien stuff, and play a bunch of rpgs and strategy games.
Just putt in 30k in a sound system in my pool house/bar. I host parties there or just go there when I want to smoke a J, read a book and listen to some amazing sound.
Toys are fkin fun. I have two one wheels too which I use to roam around with my girl or friends a bit everywhere and take in some nice sights while we zoom by . Next year gonna cop a boat. Never lost the passion for playing and enjoying toys but now there

I miss the feeling of a new world.
Life was never easy even when I was three. I could do what I want but I was a serious kid. The level of turmoil is close to the same, it's just different shit now. Still, you have boundless energy and it doesn't ever seem like you could be defeated when you are a child. That's why I'm surprised people are so sympathetic of children with terminal illnesses. Sure, it's awful that their life will never "bloom" per se, but I don't think anyone is more mentally able to face a situation like that than a child. Weird how that works.
That mindset can still be recaptured at times, even for spans, but as a child it was constant. Maybe we finally realized we were full of shit to think that way. But life was unquestionably better believing it, even if it was naive.

Even when life is crap, you enjoy things more as a child than as an adult. Today I was thinking of one night playing this Nintendo game "Tiger Heli." Like a flashback, vivid memory, and that moment felt so alive. And that's just on random Nintendo game.

Different circumstances would yield different preference.
For instance, being an adult (insert gender/race) in the US vs in Afghanistan is different. Perhaps in Afghanistan, being an average adult woman means you have to stay at home all day cooking and cleaning and raising 5 kids while as a girl, you're much more free to say and do anything.
