Great for Kareem to show respect to Larry Legend, I honestly think dude is under rated. If he played in this load management era he would be a whole other beat.

The thing is, guys who are great in their own era are usually great because their skills are perfect for that era. As the game changes, they might still be very good but their game isn't tailored perfectly for a different style. It's tailored for whatever era they were the best in, which is why they became the best.
The only guy who could truly transcend ANY era while having an elite impact is Lebron.

Bird is the only guy that might accumulate more rings than MJ if we did an experiment where we gave them each 1000 randomly-selected supporting casts and ran 1000 seasons to see who could win more
Teammates play so well next to both.... Bird and MJ are the 2 goats of the following:
Teammates join them as rookies, and develop into all-star caliber alongside them... :confusedshrug:...
Pippen, Grant, and BJ all joined MJ as rookies and were all-stars by the time he retired in 1993... Similarly, Bird developed Ainge, McHale and others into all-stars or better players
It's like, if you got the nod to play alongside Bird or MJ, you were HYPE, chomping at the bit, and a sponge for improving.. mj and bird inspired teammates - teammates flat-out improved big-time alongside them .. Not everyone can say that
Heck, guys like Kerr and Paxson were nobodies or waived players prior to joining Mike and changing their whole life (they both had post-playing careers from gaining noteriety and name-recognition alongside MJ).. Similarly, Ainge and McHale were "somebodies", aka made men for winning with Bird

'played against' being key term
MJ taking lots of L's lately, not many 80's elites respect Ordan
