"by far" - Larry

"and it's not even close" - Jefferson

we call that the distance between Top 2 and Top 12

in other words, respect the gap

for a second i thought op meant kobe was his favorite.
for a second i thought his guy might actually be a legit lakers fan.
at the end, he is still that wheelchair kid likes to ride on lebron's d*ck.

OP might just be the most legit Lakers fan in here, only Lakers fan who told it how it was when Kobe severely destroyed the Lakers rebuild. The rest of them were delusional

I don't know if OP understands what Bird said. Has anyone argued that Lebron wasn't the best player in the league in 2012? Yeah, he was the best player in the league at his peak, and?

I don't know how difficult it is, to understand what Bird was saying.

2012, the prime Lebron and Miami were the NBA champions.
Lebron was the best player in the league and nobody would argue that.
Lebron was THE BEST PLAYER in 2012, no question about that.

However, Bird did not say both were he favorites.
He just mentioned Kobe.

That means if Bird had to pick one, he would pick Kobe, EVEN Lebron was the best player in 2012 particularly.

Bronsexuals got so excited about this they forgot there was another part to the interview.

https://youtu.be/kSWxSfH5WC8

Simmons: "If you could've picked any current player right now to play with for an entire season, who would you have picked?"

Bird: "Probably Kobe."

Simmons (incredulous) "REALLY?!" :lol

Bird: "Because of the fact that he's.... Of course he wouldn't have been shooting as much as he does now. His desire to win. His dedication in the offseason to get better. He's just tough, he's just a tough cat. But if you want to have fun like I did with Bill Walton you play with LeBron. It would've probably been more fun to play with LeBron. But if you want to win and win and win it's Kobe."

 :applause: :oldlol:

Now cue Bronsexuals scrambling to make excuses that "this is an old interview." When a couple of minutes ago they were taking it as gospel.

Sure.

You can't argue with work ethic and intensity, kobe has both over lebron. I think it's pretty obvious that's what bird meant - if you want to have fun and goof around, play with lebron, if you wan't to be serious play with kobe.

Very appropriate comment to make back in 2012.

Well let's not twist larry's words, let's look at what he said during this 2012 interview.

https://streamable.com/68yoe

Larry bird says kobe has the most dedicated mentality, the greatest desire to win - he's right

He's also says Lebron is "better by far" at basketball - also right.

This was an interview from february 2012 before lebron had even won a ring yet after the 2011 choke and he still says lebron is better by far at basketball, kobe was a 5-time champion whereas lebron was ringless - still says lebron is far better. :oldlol:

Well yeah, he was describing a 5-time champion who punched above his weight for his career when it came to championships. What do you expect him to say? I acknowledge that he said that.

Now why are you struggling so hard to understand that he STILL takes lebron after he choked in 2011 before he won a single ring, and says he is far better than a 5-time champion?
